** Resident Evil Revelations 60 FPS Cutscene mod **

This is a simple mod that replaces the 30 FPS pre rendered cutscenes of this game with AI interpolated 60 FPS pre rendered cutscenes.

## Installation:

1. Make sure to backup your original files. You just need to make a backup of the "d3" file located in ":\Resident Evil Revelations\nativePC\demo\" just in case you want to revert back to original files.

2. After extraction, simply copy "nativePC" folder and paste it to installation directory of your game. When the confirmation prompt for replacing the files appears, click yes to proceed. You should be good to go.

## Limitations:

1. The converted cutscenes does have a bit more compression artifacts compared to the original videos. The compression had to be done otherwise there were severe microstutters while the cutscenes were playing ingame. This did not occur when playing the cutscenes with video players outside of the game. i will try to tackle this issue in future if possible.

2. There are still frame pacing issues when the pre rendered cutscenes are played in this game. So at times, the cutscenes will run at perfect smooth 60 fps, followed by random microstutters.

To minimize this issue:

I. Set the FPS cap to "variable". Setting it to "60" causes even more framepacing issues.

II. Set a 60 FPS cap via RTSS [Riva Tuner Statistics Server] to smooth out the frametimes. This will further minimize the issues. Then enable vsync in game.

III. Alternatively, you can disable vsync and let the game run at uncapped framerate. The game by default has a 120 FPS cap. This will minimize the cutscene microstutters to some extent.

You can also remove the 120 FPS cap by some other mods. Doing that can also minimize the microstutters during cutscenes.

None of this will get rid of microstutters completely unfortunately. These microstutters occured with original 30 fps cutscenes too.

Special thanks to NomNom for giving me info about the tools required for wmv3 encoding.

n00mkrad (aka nmkd) for making Flowframes software which was used for 60 FPS interpolation.
