I found that the buttons do not map properly like in the menu (close). I also did not see this: swaps the "B" and "X" button prompts and replaces "LT" with "RG". Not sure what I did wrong but I believe I followed all the steps. I was using Preydogs VR mod also.

Hmmm tbh not sure, I may have missed a couple prompts. I would just test all the buttons on your controller. If you can report back which buttons work, I'll look into updating the mod with a fix.
In order to do a 180 turn, you hit down on the left stick, and press circle if you’re on PS4, and B if you’re on Xbox One. On PC, the keyboard button is the X button. I cannot find the control combination on the oculus controllers.While the cursor is in the item box, you press either the view (xbox one) or the touchpad button (ps4) to auto-sort items. Not sure on PC.
