Ever thought of putting it for Leon in RE2 Remake? Also for the costumes, I got the flashback Joel model, tried to put it into the game, model works textures messed up cause of my own mistakes, might gonna retry later, but just to be sure if you were planning to do it yourself at one point

Yep, it IS a great game. People are just mad that the developers killed off Joel like that (though there are some plot holes and some logical fallacies here and there, throughout the entire journey), and that the game hits you heavy in emotional terms. After my initial rage settled down after seeing Joel perish, I started to see the story for what it was (after I finished it) - and it is very well written, almost Shakespearean.
Naughty Dog just presumed the general populace has insight capabilities, which.. they do not. Hence most are not able to see past the "UH MUH GUD WHY DID JOEL DIE LIKE THAT AND WHY ARE WE PLAYING ABBY, I DON'T CARE ABOUT ENDING THE VICIOUS CYCLE OF DEATH, I JUST WANT TO SEE JOEL LIVE AND BE TOGETHER WITH ELLIE", since if you come to think of it - Joel wasn't that much of a good person.
Nah. The gameplay is the only thing that saved TLOUII.
It's the only major improvement they had and I would say it's one of the best 3rd person shooter mechanics in a video game(alongside RE6, MGSV, Uncharted 4).
Other than that, it's a mess. Everything from stupid pacing issues(too many insert flashbacks), stupid characters we never care or force to sympathize. And not just what happened to Joel, but also other characters like Tommy and Ellie especially at the end. For a game that touts for the "Revenge". They didn't even had the guts to pull it through.
Metal Gear Rising Revengeance has a better Revenge theme than TLOUII. Cause Raiden actually comes through his trials and pulls through at the end.
I already babbled too much. I just appreciate his character model still being used properly on other games. Once TLOUII comes to PC in the coming years. Hopefully they'll be able to salvage him and Ellie as well as Tommy.
Disagree 100%. I think the story was very well-written. I had no problem with pacing because the flashbacks were informative and provided context for current events. Tommy and Ellie at the end of the game made perfect sense when you consider what they'd both endured. "Revenge" was a theme in this game, obviously, but also, and just as importantly, the value of empathy and the dangers of indoctrination. But for how far ND was willing to go with revenge...man, they left a lot of bodybags in their wake. I don't think ND pulled any punches in this regard. I think the way the game ended is much more daring than if they'd gone through with the end I believe you're suggesting.
But anyway, you didn't like the story. That's fine. It's nice to see that you're able to recognize how good the gameplay is. The melee, while simple, is solid, and how everything flows with shooting and stealth...it's a beauty to behold.
Nah the game was a snooze fest, they literally stole the most ""shocking" scene from the walking dead. 6/10 at best.
Also the way ND behaved afterwards was absurd. If my company made a product that pretty much half the people who bought it hated, why on earth would I tell them all to go F themselves? Figuratively no CEO would behave in such a childish fashion in any other industry.
And to the people who think that those who didnt like it felt that way because they lack insight... well you are probably not insightful enough to understand why that makes no sense so there is no point trying.
Well maybe the writer just wanted to see Ellie get her "redemption" and live a life without PTSD, cant deny that really matters. But still, I felt the script quite weird but cound't find out why. honestly, when I finished the storyline I just got depression for days, and never wanted to restart for a platinum LOL, just got bact to TLOU part I or I'll get PTSD too.

5-6/10. Only thing holding the game up to a 6 max is literally the fact that it looks amazing.. hooves breaking stones is a breathtakingly awesome small detail.
The story though, was a convoluted mess, not only in terms of pacing but basic things such as character decisions and laughably blatant plot armor that utterly ruin any hope of emersion.. ie. The theater fight.. Ellie has her shotgun.. Let's be real, anybody getting chased into a corner with only one way in is gonna camp the door and blast at anything that moves, not use a piece of wood to knock her gun away.
That's just one piece of plot armor.. there's pages of it.. I'm not even gonna DARE list the "conveniences" ..no joke its the new Star Wars trilogy but
I get the point of the game, I get the message. But.. it's stupid.
I hate comparing predecessors and what not, but TLOU1 did it solid.. good sway of emotions, emersion (only two instances of emersion breaking: 1. Ellie puzzles and 2. The miracle medicine that apparently heals internal bleeding). Looking back.. TLOU2 had big shoes to fill from the last game and they dropped the ball.. mainly due to hiding She-Hulk as much as they could. It's just a woke mess riddles throughout the story.
Sick of politics, sick of SJW garbage water leaking into EVERYTHING,, sick of being spoonfed woke agendas in a video game. They're meant to be an escape, not another virtue signal running in my ps4 lol
Could've been MUCH better if:
- Didn't hide Abby, focused on her as a different persona living in the world of Joel and Ellie, posing as a new game altogether until they eventually overlap, find a better conflict though because the whitewashed retconned Dr (Who was an idiot since there is no way to get a vaccine for a fungal infection.. he should already know that..) Was the flimsiest of the flimsy. Hell.. How she even found him was nothing short of a statistical impossibility..
1. Not somehow dying on the mountain during the horde attack. 2. Joel and Tommy were patrolling that very night. 3. Found her in the exact moment she needed saving.
List goes on.. She Literally rushed into what coulda been a fortified town with no plan on what to do when she got there to find Joel.
That's poor writing 101 in every sense. To each their own though.

@XenoVars Really? The revenge theme fits incredibly well. We clearly saw over the course of the game, especially in the last act, how much revenge can ruin someone's life. Right from when the game was announced, even in the game's description, it was about Ellie's pursuit of vengeance and the consequences of her actions. The game showed us the debilitating and tragic results of this path, and how much of a vicious cycle it creates.
For Ellie to "pull it through" and make it out okay would've utterly defeated the point of the entire story.
