Don't bash Sasha Zotova, she looks a lot like classic RE3 Jill and I don't mind the change. Jill had a number of different face models, RE3 seemingly resembling one of the Spice Girls, RE Revelations had a brand new face model too so I don't see why this is a problem. Its great we can change her face but Sasha Zotova doesn't need the petty insults. Its childish and stupid. Respect other people's preferences.
Its funny how everyone complains about the femails but nobody seems to care about the males. Like when did anybody bash the new leon for looking "ugly"
DeltaGem you might not mind the change, but a lot of people do. We already had a perfect Jill. This is not Jill. It's not even close to Jill. They just wanted to save a few bucks and hired a less attractive actress. Case closed.
Edit: Toodel I think most gamers are male, so they don't really care how the male version looks look-wise. So you wouldn't see many people bashing him, but he looked absolutely terrible too imho. Actor irl looks good, but the ingame model is bad. I know a few female friends who really disliked his looks when the game was first revealed.
Fully agreed. This new face for Jill looks off. This is not Jill Valentine. Both her personality and face have been totally ruined in this remake. No offence to Sasha Zotova, she's quite pretty but I don't think she fits very well for Jill Valentine. Julia Voth was perfect and it was the face model we've had for years and is the most iconic. Why fix things that ain't broken?
Because they can't just keep using Julia Voth's likeness if she doesn't want them too? She would've needed to agree to a new contract with capcom, and if they couldn't agree, they can't keep using her and have to go in another direction. And oh, considering the game was built in an entirely new f'n engine and it's not the mid 2000s anymore, they would've need to do a brand new rescan of Julia Voth's face. And news flash, Julia Voth is nearly 40 years old right now. Jill Valentine is aged 23 when RE3 takes place. She was an appropriate age in 2001/2002, to match Jill's age in RE...that's why she was chosen back then. Just like why Sasha's face was chosen now. Now, the ages simply don't line up. Even if they kept the Julia Voth likeness, they would've had to sort of port the RE1 Remake/RE5 version of her scan into the new engine, and then modify it and that's never going to look as good as a brand new face scan from the ground up built for the new engine. It would've looked like this mod, uncanny and out of place w/ the rest of the engine.
The RE3R version of Jill is absolutely fine, and absolutely fits her character. People really do people tripping about this s#*!, and I'm someone who ranks Jill Valentine as their favorite RE character. This version of her is far better than her revelations version, and if THIS face model was what we got in RE1 Remake back in 2002, you wouldn't be complaining about it now, would you? You have to admit that to some degree, nostalgia is coloring your opinion. And that's fine...but all these takes of people saying "This isn't Jill Valentine!" ... it's just *facepalm* to me. It clearly is Jill Valentine and for every person that doesn't like it, there's probably 2 people that do. That, you're just gonna have to accept. Appearance is subjective, and they're never going to please everyone.
Could you PLEASE help me! the mod is not working with the fluffy mod manager, for some reason only the flipped hair style ver works for me. could you please help me find a work around or maybe patch this bug?
The mod isn't working with modded skins for me. I tried to combine it with the bad cop then the bikini skin, both won't work. I sill have the default face. Help
I fixed the hair popping out with the mesh with the mirrored hair mod turned on, but I also adjusted the entire head since you had the topology differ with different versions of the same head model.
I basically made all the head versions look like head version 1's topology, so there's little to no noticable difference. Also, I adjusted the RE1HD textures applied to the model slightly to fix the artifacting. It's not perfect, but better than having black or white spots being in places that shouldn't have anything like that.
Edit: Too bad there's a disconnection between the head and torso even if I re-export the default mod head. I don't get what's the problem.
Edit 2: I fixed the seam issue. Now the head works perfectly with the mirrored hair. Here's a thread I made about the seam issue: https://residentevilmodding.boards.net/thread/16475/visible-seam-jills-head-body
