I just wanted to drop by and thank you for doing this awesome mod. I can't play RE2 without this, it makes the game's contrast perfect. Much love!

Edit: I have a curiosity though. As a fellow ReShade enthusiast, I was wondering how did you came to the particular FakeHDR values for the preset?

I would really prefer if you could add proper instructions how to use this mod. It's really hard to piece this together without any kind of manual, instructions in description or documentation with the mod, and half I had to puzzle together from the info in the comments.

    So starters:

    1. why one of the dll files have to be renamed something else to make this mod work?
    2. You don't tell which effects you're supposed to download with the reshade, as reshade itself tells to download as few effects as possible.
    3. I'm running the game on maxed out 1080p settings with FXAA+TAA like you instructed, but the lumasharpen stuff looks realy noisy and bugs at times (causes very visible noise and also constant brightness "pulsing" at times). I remember reading SOMEWHERE on this site that this is caused by some sort of setting, which has workaround how to fix it. What that workaround is, I have no idea. Also this really thick, harsh noise can't be right, so I'd like to get more info on this
    4. I'd appreciate if you'd have example settings of your RE settings that you use along with your reshade., it would make this easier for reshade newbies to use your reshade.

Instead of a snarky response, I'd just prefer you'd update your description and would do proper guide / how to use readme for your mod, you know, for the newbies.

Also for those seeking, don't bother downloading just the ini, just grab the entire stuff from google drive mirror and remember to change the dxdi.dll to d3d11.dll before slapping them to RE2 installation folder. Hit home, enable all the effects that aren't checklisted and instead f buggy noisy mess you have actually the modder's intented look. It looks now nicer, but I still want the author to do proper documentation how to use their mod to save headache from people who don't live and breathe reshade all day everyday.

Hey can you help me? I installed the Reshade, donwload everything. Then I put the RE2 REMAKE.ini into the game folder. I open the Reshade wutg "home" and select the preset, and nothing happens. I already renamed the file. Any ideas?

So...you saw a game that's already been criticized for being too dark and thought "hey what about making it darker!"....well I guess some folks enjoy seeing nothing on screen for hours at a time.

Well, it's not an issue with "dark < darker", but more with "black > grey" ... The game's obscurity is a blurry grey fog, it's awful...

I don't know what you're talking about. This game is a grey mess with default HDR on, blacks are not black at all. I for one am grateful someone has made HDR actually usable for this game, until now I've been having to play with HDR off and brightness levels set to ridiculously low just to get the black levels right.

What's the difference between this mod and the RE immersion - reshade 2.0 mod? Can I use both or will they conflict?

If I install the FakeHDR.fx game crash on start.
Things I tried: many versions of reshade, dx11 and window borderless, renaming dxgi to d3d11(doesn't do anything whatsoever)
Had same issue with other presets that require specific shaders from reshade, like RE IMMERSION needs DephtHaze.fx(makes the game crash)
Also Colourfulness.fx, SMAA.fx each and both make the game crash so cant use any of those

Things that don't crash the game: Clarity.fx, LUT.fx and LumaSharpen.fx everything else = crash
I know this is an issue with Reshade itself and not your preset but pls help this is killing me T_T
