It's been years since this mod has been updated. Like others have been saying, this mod is broken, but only half broken. Claire's side still works as intended, and she has access to all of Leon's weapons and ammo. However, it seems that with the latest update of the game, Leon's side is somewhat busted, as not all of Claire's weapons are available to Leon, and some weapons have been replaced, such as the MQ11 replacing the Magnum in the STARS office, but that leaves Leon with no way to obtain the Magnum.
Also, in the original version of the mod, the author put all of the other character's weapons in the Deposit Room where you use the Weapon's Keycard. Everything is exactly where it should be in Claire's game. She gets the upgraded Shotgun, MQ11, and Leon's Matilda in those lockers, but in Leon's game this has become broken and the regular items are still there (film roll, extra knife, shells, etc)
In short, this mod still works for Claire but currently doesn't work for Leon. EDIT: Activating this mod from a fresh install fixed the issues.
EDIT: Oh, and, even the "less ammo" version stills gives WAY too much ammo. You will have enough ammo by the end of the game to beat it twice.
DOUBLE EDIT: For some reason, it seems that uninstalling and then re-installing the game fixed the mod for Leon. I'm not sure what's actually causing it to glitch out, but I would assume it's conflicting with other mods that affect weapons.
I do NOT recommend this mod as it does not work properly. (I will happily change this if the mod author returns, but I don't see that happening).
I am going to have to restart because of it. It changed the terminal keys (which were in the stupid portable safes) into actual spare keys, so opening the terminal lockers is now impossible. Not only that, but I couldn't get it to work properly (ammo shows up but not weapons, which is why I even kept it to begin with. Thought spare ammo could be fun. FML). I am using the downgraded version of the game.
Mod description indicates "Optimized the location of the Terminal key pads," and it looks like one is supposed to be in the main hall according to the images, but cannot be certain. Would be great if they actually said where these are supposed to show up because I'm several hours in, looked up where they are supposed to appear in a 2nd playthrough, and then learned I'd already picked them up as spare keys... not exactly helpful. If they are somewhere else, it's not at all "optimized" and I've completely explored the first floor and the majority of the second.
I will have to restart, go without anything in those lockers, or quit and move on to another game. Not ideal, so at least I can warn others.
interesting mod. I couldn't help but notice that, even with the "less ammo" variant, there was still too much ammo available. I think it would be better to limit handgun ammo packs to 15 bullets, rather than 25, just like in the original RE2.
