Never install this mod i cant get rid of it because it requires you edit the games files in a way where it doesn't go back to the original once reinstalled so im forever stuck not being able to use other mods because its conflicting
How is that even possible? when you completely remove the game from your hdd or ssd entirely and reinstall it it's literally all brand new files. You're doing something wrong and it's not this mods fault.. though I do agree this is not the version of the mod to be using. this version is ass and whoever uploaded it did it wrong.
When you uninstall the game delete the files from your steam library in the folders too. Some files are left behind manually delete them make sure there's no trace of re2 left then reinstall and you should be fine. This happens with cyberpunk mods too.
To those of you who need the dinput8.dll it can be found here https://github.com/praydog/REFramework/releases Just download the RE2.zip and extract the dinput8.dll file into your game directory and you are good to go! You do not need to download any of the files uploaded on this page, just the dinput8.dll file is needed. For some reason they can't just pack dinput8.dll into this upload and we have to use the horrid website that is github.
this has got to be one of the worst mod set ups ive ever seen, its not simple to get working and ive tried every thing i can and it simply wont work. the framework side wont find the mod at all and its stupid it cant work without it. the download link provided doesnt work for it so you have to find it yourself from a dodgy site, its as if this mod here is just to get people to download from that other website.
just a waste of time, id recommend only making a mod if you can actually make it properly,
that's like saying "oh yeah? can you cook this steak better?? no you cant!!!!!!!!!!" to a food critic. you realize he has every right to say this @J4ckH4mm3r
the mod doesn't work? yeah of course it doesn't, this guy just downloaded the mod from the author's repository and haphazardly uploaded here, don't bother downloading here and got to the github repository, I have no idea who uploaded this or why nexus allowed it, but this file is a broken version of the actual mod
Figured this dump out, go to github, download the RE2 TDB66.zip for the non RT version, at least that worked for me. That's the functioning one, the other one named "RE2" doesn't work. Have fun. https://github.com/praydog/REFramework/releases
You're awesome, I hope a lot of people saw your comment so they can actually try out first person themselves without this supposed headache, I only say supposed because I don't plan on trying it myself, I'll get it from Github instead. I'll update here again if it does or doesn't work for me.
Edit: After hours later of me trying I gotta say that this is amazing to mess around with and I just love it! thank you for putting the link for us:)
Cool mod but its buggy as hell, causes my game to randomly get black screen of death on random cutscenes, game will stay running in backround taking memory, cant even end the task or shut the game down, forcing me to restart my whole pc.
How do we actually install this? Do I drop the files from the zip on this page into the game directory too? All your installation instructions say to do is get that .dll file.
