It says online game list couldnt be downloaded! Please make sure to allow internet connection from EZAb in your firewall an restart EZAB. It is whitelisted in the windows defender firewall, have no idea why it doesnt work
nvm i managed to solve it. Although i turned avira off it still somehow blocked it. Needed to whitelist it in aviras firewall too :/
It will always backup the newest modified file in the save folder unless u specify the force single save option. It doesn't matter if the save is modded since the tool won't know I'd it's diffrent
I have 2 pre-saves, one of them is normal and the other is modified and I wanted to combine them in one place and then in the character selection I wanted 1 normal and the other modified
hm i did a quick tests, if i restart the game the save was fine, but i don't know why it behaves like that. the current update only fixes the save checking method, when auto backup is not used.
I can only assume its because I was trying to alt f4 right before a death but missing and it happening after the death causing a weird world save. If I let it process and exit regular it loads correctly.
Can this be used to restore a HC character after death? I saw someone saying it could, and tried to do so, but it kept displaying the character as dead despite me loading a save from before they died
hi, since thhe code is kinda messy after all the updates and even i have to search for a while, i'll keep it close ^^ to answer you questions:
The save file is the exact name if the save.sav file, if there are multiple files in the folder EZAB will check every file, then the name doesn't matter anymore. To prevent that you can enter every file name to the "exclude" list.
If you mean the "Exclude" button, i guess that won't work, but if you enter the save file path to the save folder, you can multi select every file.
The screenshot is automatically created each time a file has been modified. You can right click on the left side of the status bar, where the last save file is shown, to see the last screenshot taken, then you could create a manual backup through the hotkeys.
The "Update profile" button is only for changing the "Type = game" of the current profile. The "Save" button is to apply the changes to game list entry of the game". So basically if you want to edit the game profile because the game wasn't detected, then 1. you select the game from the list 2. edit everything needed and click on "Save" 3. then you can "Update profile" to apply the changes to the current profile.
thanks for the quick replies. just to double check:
if i were to create a remnant 2 profile from scratch, can i specify the save file as `save_*.sav` to mean that all saves of this pattern are to be watched? unless i'm not understanding
yea, for the exclude button, i would like to be able to "future-proof" the exclusion list. for example, my list looks like `profile.bak1,profile.bak2,profile.bak3,profile.onl,profile.sav,save_0.bak1,save_0.bak2,save_0.bak3,save_1.bak1,save_1.bak2,save_1.bak3` because i have 2 profiles. i can have up to 5 profiles though, which means that i would need to iterate over all the different backup patterns in that folder. would be great if i can specify `save_*.bak*`, or even better as `^save_\d\.bak\d$` (regex) :p
hm for 1. that shouldn't be possible 2. ohh since i didn't know that for multiple profiles, and now that you mentioned it, the exclude only works for detecting a modified save file, but it will not exclude them from the backup, i will look into this when i have time :) i guess a regex should be possible to implement or at least simple *save_*.sav
I won't bet on that feature 😅 but you can see backups as save slots by renaming them to reload, for trying out a diffrent build it's kinda the same no?
hi, you cannot force the game to quick save, but you can only use the hotkeys for quick backup, which is kinda like a quick save :) Just don't start the auto backup and let EZAB run in the background. If the game auto saves you'll hear a sound and if you want to "save" from that point, just use the quick backup hotkey.
Thank you so much bro, any chance for perhaps a utility that can edit your character appearance in the future? I really wanted to change my hair color and remove the scars but the only way to do that is to create a new character unfortunately.
Not sure if this works the same way in R2, but in R1 you needed to run the "checksum fixer" tool to prevent your profile from permanently corrupting after you made changes to it - just as a side note and warning :D

Edit: nvm, still did it.
Edit: Since disabling steam cloud saving it hasn't happened.
also, when updating the profile, not sure if it's saving or not because the Save button is greyed out if i only change exclusion list
thanks in advance.
amazing tool by the way

to answer you questions:
1. you select the game from the list
2. edit everything needed and click on "Save"
3. then you can "Update profile" to apply the changes to the current profile.
Thank you :)
again, many thanks.

thanks for for mentioning :)
I rather not have to reroll and reset traits for different builds.
Is it possible to create quick saves with this mod? Or does it only work with autosaves?
I suck at souls like games, a quick save would make the game much more enjoyable lol
=)

Edit:
It's fix in 3.4.3c so you can do as i mentioned :)
if you have questions feel free to join the discord.
I'm hoping for a quick save mod to come out in the future, thanks!
^ found this when I wanted to change my looks in R1 ages ago.
