As with almost all my public projects, the source files can be found on my Github
2.0 is out which also includes the ability to start the game from the configurator as well as build the mod, everything should work now except for some options. If you are experienced enough, then you can always manually edit this mod
i cant tell by the description if im using this right - unsure what files are supposed to go where and how i should be launching - unsure what files go where and how i should be launching. Im mainly trying to use this to see if it will fix the random crashing and hung errors i get
You basically download the configurator which originally released for jedi survivor (its linked in the requirements and description). Then you extract the downloaded configurator to any folder you like. After that you download this file here and extract it to the folder where you extracted the configurator to, launch the configurator and choose remnant 2 as config and then simply set how you want it to be and press install, no extra steps needed.
thank you! Ill give it a shot and hopefully be able to report it fixing this issue. So many of us cant even play due to errors like this LowLevelFatalError [File:D:\_Gunfire\UE5\UE5-Gunfire\Engine\Source\Runtime\RenderCore\Private\RenderingThread.cpp] [Line: 1274] GameThread timed out waiting for RenderThread after 120.00 secs
"LowLevelFatalError [File:D:\_Gunfire\UE5\UE5-Gunfire\Engine\Source\Runtime\RenderCore\Private\RenderingThread.cpp] [Line: 1274] GameThread timed out waiting for RenderThread after 120.00 secs "
This simply means your hardware isn't fast enough for their 'heavy' resource hog to run so they close your game as it's taking too long for the GPU to respond to the Game Engine.
You will need to slim down the rendering and other resource hogs somehow in order to bypass that, but if your PC in general doesn't have a good enough CPU and RAM and such, Oodles decompression wouldn't work effectively and it'll crash again due to being too slow for the game's interests.
What would be a major improvement overall for your whole PC is if you can disable Nanites in general.
I notice when I have this mod installed, for some reason I will not allowed me to play online, either in a public game or join a friend, removing this mod fixes it.
edit: through some testing I found that r.RayTracing.Geometry.Landscape=0 is the cause, as when that line is added, it'll always fail to connect.
I am getting this error when I try and install the mod and I'm not sure what to do about it. "An unhandled exception occured: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path" followed by a large set of file locations im not familiar with, I tried just posting the picture but can't seem to figure out how to do so. Any help is appreciated.
P.S. The launch game button did work at one point but it didn't load my save so that might be something you'd wanna look into.
The launch button is not the problem for the game not using your saves. As for the error, make sure that you selected the right game path and the root of it.
Hello, for some reason when this mod is active, FSR upscaling seems to look more like regular taa upscaling even with taa upscaling disabled?
Due to the fps gains I can set it to performance instead of ultra performance now and it does look better, but yeah using the same settings as before the game was generally blurrier when using fsr.
Hmm, I believe it's TAA Gen 5 + Upscaling being off that caused this. But having these on lowers frames too much to be valuable compared to just upping the render res.
Another problematic configurator like the one with Jedi Survivor?? that one crashed the game and never saved the profile i created let alone bugged shadows
Calm down a bit, I very well know that my software is far, far away from being remotely reliable or good, and I am no super human. With mods you have to expect it to go wrong at some point. The jedi survivor crashing issues are to be blamed on me as I did a mistake and released a broken update, but that got fixed. I also already stated (I believe in the change logs or comments) that the saving of presets is bugged and will be fixed at some point. And the shadows being "bugged" is not an issue with the mod itself but with the settings you put in the game or/and the mod.
I try my best to fix things and I work on my stuff pretty much daily, but as someone with a lot of mental health issues, insecurities (I can't even go to the dentist alone, let alone talk to strangers) and many projects at a time that I would love to finally finish, you can't expect things to be working in a good way all the time. I do all this because it's my hobby, I never ask for money nor do I lock my mods behind a silly paywall. It's my time that I "waste" for my hobby, and I waste it because it makes me happy seeing people actually gaining something from my stuff. It's always cool having people reporting issues or giving me feedback as it helps me a lot for learning things and for improving my projects, but not this way please.
mod in my end does not seem to work, tried alot of diff places to put the engine.ini but somehow it does not work as the play button does not launch the game in my end, and if i try to launch the game normally the settings applied in the mod is not applied as well. please do update, budget gaming here ;-; thank you op
The game launch button isn't intended to work with this game or dead island 2 (also stated int the mod description), I will probably do something about it to not be as confusing from an end user standpoint. The mod should also by default select the right location for the engine.ini, if not then its located here "C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Remnant2\Saved\Config"
