I felt like writing a poem about inevitability:

There is no dodging a bullet
There is only biding its time
The swamp will drag us down
The way up is to climb

There is no waiting to breathe
The next gasp has to come
There is no sitting in the road
You ride or you crawl or you run

Silence of the crickets
Sunlight of the night
Wetness of the desert
Courage of our fright

The clap of our feet on the ground
The cry of our dreams we forgot
The flash of a word with no sound
The hope of the craziest of thought

There is no dodging a bullet
There is no running from fear
Don't wait to do what you love
The bed in your grave is so near

The winds from a butterfly's wings
The creak of your bones when you wake
The sounds you can never detect
The boat with no rudder to steer

There is no dodging a bullet
The reckoning will always arrive
There is no waiting tomorrow
It's here in front of your eyes

Keep riding away from the fire
Keep swimming away from it all
They'll catch you or not on their own
So journey each step 'til you fall

There is no dodging a bullet
There is only the road and your fate
There is no dodging a bullet
There is you and your steps as you wait

      As for my footage for the film here, it helps a lot that I don't actually play the game. I just like to ride around doing nothing from time to time and seeing what (if anything) happens *Laughs*

      I've tried to return several times over the last year or two, but I could never remember how to do the simplest things (the keyboard commands are largely unintuitive). Finally I logged in and spent an hour or so just figuring out the keys enough to let me wander aimlessly for a while :) Thanks a ton, Laird :)

      I wish it were possible, but no. I lost my best friend to a car jacking many years ago, and I've seen too many people with bullet hole scars to think it's possible. Actually, the author Michael Moorcock whom I used to read a lot in my youth was the first author to point out you can't dodge bullets. The main character mowed some people down with a machine gun and scoffed at someone who had tried to dodge them. Until then, I had thought in terms of "Kung Fu" mythology that you can dodge anything. But really you can't, not even with Kung Fu.

      Thank you so much, dear Izzy. For a super long time I've wanted to log into Red Dead Online again and just ride around, but I couldn't remember any of the key commands. Finally I spent an hour or so relearning the basics of how to play and then wandered randomly for a couple of hours not worried about dying or quests or anything resembling a purpose. Purpose can always be assigned retroactively, like in this case *laughs* :)
