While John runs away, Arthur tries to hold his ground and the endless waves of Pinkertons off from following him with nothing more than his trusty Cattleman, a few bullets and sheer willpower. The Pinkertons grow increasingly frustrated and throw everything at him that they have, but to no avail.
While Arthur thinks about what to do next, he suddenly gets tackled down from behind.
"I got ya now, Black Lu-"
Arthur feels the attacker going limp and turns around to see him.
"You rat."
A stray shot from the pinkertons seems to have hit Micah. Arthur quickly gets him off him and stands up again, but he has no time to rest, as the Pinkertons were quick to use the brawl to their advantage. As they closed in on him, Arthur decided to search for even higher ground, but the situation was growing increasingly desperate.
After witnessing Micah´s death, Arthur was filled with new energy and determination. He wanted to see the remainder of his family for a last time and die in their comfort and not on this god forsaken hill. He once again equppied his Cattleman and shot down the Pinkertons, who were surprised at his sudden determination and caught off-guard. But despite all efforts, Arthur was still trapped at the top of a respectably high mountain with sheer endless waves of Pinkertons set to kill him and only a few bullets in his pockets left.
He shot down another Pinkerton, when he suddenly heard a familiar neigh. He looked down the mountain in the direction of the sound and saw Buell looking up at him and determinedly trying to climb the unclimbable mountainside.
"Oh boy, what are you doing here.."
Arthur was in utter disbelief, since he decided to leave Buell at Hamish´s homestead in fear of what was to come in Dutch´s final move, but the loyal and smart horse seemingly decided to follow the nearby gunshots. Arthur feared for Buell´s life, but he was determined to flee.
Without a slint of fear, he laid down, slid the hillside down a bit at a suitable place and jumped into the air to finally land on Buell´s back in a move, that would rival the action scenes in movies to come. He immidiately gave Buell the order to ride off. The Pinkertons couldnt believe their eyes and were shocked for nearly half a minute, until they took aim and shot at them.
Buell was an easy target in the rough and hilly area slowing him down, but he kept pushing forward, while Arthur blindly shot at the Pinkertons in anger, until his Cattleman clicked. Slowly, but surely he began to feel the effects of his increasing sickness leaving him completely helpless and near unconsciousness. Without Buell´s determination and quick-thinking, neither of them would have gotten of this hell.
Buell decided to aim for the Loft, an abandoned military post with a good view of the area, which worked just as good as a hunting outlook and that Arthur would often visit with Buell to find food for the camp. The dismounted Pinkertons had no chance to follow them nor see exactly where they were heading, so they decided to turn to the other Van Der Lindes in the area first, especially Dutch and John.
Buell managed to take Arthur near the Loft, where both collapsed to the ground and fell asleep.
The only difference being that one of them fell asleep for an eternity, while the other only slept for several hours..
Upon waking up and seeing his dead friend, Arthur thanked Buell for all, he has done. He looked around to see the familiar shape of the Loft.
"Smart boy."
Arthur sat down a last time beside Buell, petting it gently...
He then climbed up the route to the Loft and went inside with his empty revolver in hand. Luckily, no one was there like every time, he visited this place. Arthur climbed up the trusty ladder to the top and checked out the view. He couldnt make out any Pinkertons or Van Der Lindes in the distance, but the air at the mountain was thick with gun smoke.
He thought about everything, that had happened in the last hours and that was the moment, where he made his choice. He wasnt going to be able to find John, Charles or anyone of his family, as they were all trying to get out of this mess with their own little families. And even if, all he would do is slow them down or make them even sadder.
"No!"
Arthur grabbed the railing and was becoming increasingly angry. He would use the rest of his life, that Buell gifted him, to protect his family. He must be wanted for dead in all of America by now and he would use this to draw heat from his family to himself. He was going to the show the law a side of him, that they will wish to have never seen, even if only for mere weeks...

If you installed the mods too: Look at the other picture i uploaded and delete the files and folders, you see there, from your RDR2 folder.
