Rhiannon Giddens plays the banjo in the music selection. She's a favorite of mine in the "roots" style of country and bluegrass. Her main instrument is the banjo, but I've heard her play guitar and fiddle. And  of course, her voice is wonderful. For example:

When I first noticed that Arthur's face was getting dirty and splotchy, I thought there was something wrong with him (or my game). Then Mrs. Grimshaw, back at camp, grabs him by the ear and forces him to wash up in a water barrel. OK, so he just needs a bath now and then.

Rhiannon Giddens is a favorite of mine (love her version of Spanish Mary) and the tune you posted in the sticky is another (although it tugs mightily at the heartstrings).   Great set of bath time for Arthur.

Rhiannon does some great songs. That video in sticky comment was done at a Video Games Award show. I noticed in the youtube comments one person said he wanted to have Mountain Hymn played at his funeral.

A mere fifty cents. And you have someone else doing all the hard work I don't know what else you could at 50 cents back then. But I guess it was no fortune. Somehow I picked up a mod that does the same. Now I have to shower/bathe every now and then in order to keep up my charisma. Gets a reminder too   The header had me thinking of a scene - well, I guess it's in more than one movie- but this was Clint Eastwood sitting cozily when a couple of thugs with drawn guns barge in and he pops his six gun from the bath and disposes of them

To keep up your charisma. Well, it makes sense I suppose. But, on the other hand, less bathing could add to your intimidation. Yeah, a classic for Clint. Looks like it didn't originate with him either. Here's Glenn Ford --

You don't even have to bathe yourself for just 25 more cents? I think I would pass all the same

Yeah, pass. Then again, it might depend on who was doing the scrubbing.

It's a better way to bathe.
I only did this once in the hotel to see what options there were and then I came back to the camp and then you are forcefully forced to bathe in a rain barrel.
I don't know if that's the case every time, but I don't think so. Should be just a gag.

I'm not sure about the gag. Yeah, Mrs Grimshaw. It's only happened once to my Arthur. Now that you mention it, I'm not completely sure that it was before or after he took a bath. Maybe after as a gag. Either way, it's pretty funny seeing her drag him off to the water barrel.

I guess it's a one time thing with Ms. Grimshaw. When you come to the camp every time and your ears are pulled to the water barrel with a bit of dirt. It would get on my nerves at some point.
Yeah that was funny in a certain way

Yes, the weekend is bath time. The pictures are beautiful and kept so nostalgic Larry, great class. The game is also on my wish list.

Saturday night bath before church on Sunday. On the farm we used a #5 galvanized steel tub. Eventually we got a "modern" bathtub and a water heater.

The game goes on sale from time to time. It's the best game I've ever played, bar none. And Arthur is the best character ever.

The pictures are fantastic and if there is no running water, a bath once a week is enough.

Yes, once a week, Saturday night says this old farm boy. They added farm pumps to kitchen sinks at some point. I suppose that electric pumps probably came along not too much later than this period. The game is set in 1899.

That looks like a relaxing bath although he looked a little nervous at first. He seemed to warm up to it though :-)

Yep, in the game when the girl knocks on the door, there is some timidity, hesitancy in Arthur's voice.

Bah! Humbug! It's just another example of how unrealistic games are. I take a bath at least every 6 months, and no matter how many quarters I toss at it, no-one comes to rub me down!

That is a cool detail in the game.
You could mod it in ofcourse, like in SE and FO4 , but it is cool if it is already in three. Reminds me of kingdom come where you can get in a lot of trouble if you're not washed properly and look like a beggar.
The extra attention is not bad either. ?

It is a neat effect. It messes up my picture taking though. I have to clean him up all the time. There is a cheat to clean his face, but taking a bath is more fun. I haven't seen any effect to Arthur when he's dirty. The horse, when it's dirty, does lose some stamina. So you have to brush her. I'll have to check more closely with Arthur, it may be the same thing.
