Red Dead Redemption 2

Experiencing alot of bandits after you attack a hideout? - Solutions

This article is for those of you who get alot of bandits that spawn in as reinforcements
after attacking a hideout and theres 30+ or more bandits then what you set in the Bandit Hideouts.ini
==========================================================================
Here are solutions you can try to solve this issue, whether they work depends on your game, settings, and files
the solutions may or may not work for you, if they work for one person it may not work for another.

Solutions:

1. Bandit Hideouts.asi
Replace the .asi file and get a new copy, then test a non vanilla hideout.

2. Bandit Hideout.ini settings:
In the ini set all your settings for reinforcements to this:
REINFORCEMENT_CHANCE=0
MIN_REINFORCEMENT_ON_HORSE=0
MAX_REINFORCEMENT_ON_HORSE=0
MIN_REINFORCEMENT_ON_FOOT=0
MAX_REINFORCEMENT_ON_FOOT=0

Once you start the game dont attack a hideout, just create a new save, and then attack a non vanilla hideout.

3. Test without other mods
Make a copy of your RDR2 directory
(The RDR2 directory on steam can be found here:)
C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Red Dead Redemption 2
with all your mods if your running any, the copy will act as a backup, then remove all the mods in your
directory (not the copy) and leave only the required files for Bandit Hideouts.
     Test a non vanilla hideout and see if this solves your issue, the idea here is to eliminate any mods that could be interfering or conflicting.
       If no issues happen after doing this, then its one of your mods causing the issue, if the result is the same, then try the next solution.

4. Replace the Bandit Hideouts .dat file
Download this file, it is my Bandit Hideouts .dat file

A. Delete your .dat file and replace it with the one linked here, from my google drive:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bFbS5OYrnVW6BQnX7PIvPYsBbvl1A-zg/view?usp=sharing

B. Set the bandit settings in your ini at default and then set the following as you see them in your ini
REINFORCEMENT_CHANCE=0
MIN_REINFORCEMENT_ON_HORSE=0
MAX_REINFORCEMENT_ON_HORSE=0
MIN_REINFORCEMENT_ON_FOOT=0
MAX_REINFORCEMENT_ON_FOOT=0

c. Again test without any other mods other then Bandit Hideouts, and against a non vanilla hideout.

5. Launcher profile cache and Steam Cache

  • Startup the Rockstar Launcher
  • go to account information, then select delete local profile
This will only delete the local cache, it will not delete your social club account, or saved games.

       3.Select confirm.
       4. Then sign in again to the launcher.

Steam Cache
Go to steam ----> settings ----> downloads ----> clear download cache
doing this will restart steam but you will be cleared of of temp files and caches.
After you do those two, go back ingame and test a non vanilla hideout and see if anything changes.
=============
Notes: be sure to restart the game after doing any of these solutions.
Notes 2: When i say attack a non vanilla hideout, that means a hideout that isn't already part of the story.

6. Game Save
1. Create a new clean save without the mod.
2. Delete the old save that you had saved your game on while using the mod.
Doing this should remove any data or possible stored data with bugs, or other issues related to the mod if there is any.
