Hi! For starters this mod is amazing, really well done! But now I want to go back to 3rd Person, I've been pressing all my keys in hopes it would turn back lol. Unfortunately, I forgot to back up my original files. Is there another way to get the old files?
I tried FPS mode too and it was a f*#@ing awful experience because i soon realized that with the way the camera works in RDR 1, being unrelated to the character head and set to follow a TPS curve, makes it nearly impossible to produce a non-janky FPS experience. At least by just editing fovspline. With the way it works when you look at the sky in a pseudo FPS mode it looks like your character is suddenly 9'3 tall and by looking at the ground is suddenly a gnome. Not only that but obviously the perspective is being changed depending on the height of the terrain.
At least we can edit individual parameters like interior, roam or even aim only. But still.
Nice work man though. Appreciate your efforts. I gave up before even trying to remove collisions like you did so kudos to that.
Yeah its why I abandoned it a decade ago. I just have to get the camera to latch to the head instead of the spine bone but I have to find it somewhere. I think this version is my best attempt yet.
Hmmm. Makes me think. Can we convert the RDR 2 cam to RDR 1? Do they contradict each other? I don't see why they wouldn't work. It's just about the same script, huh?
Darn... I was hoping for a quick coding solution to the 1st to 3rd person transition. Was just an idea.
As well, to install and UNINSTALL: The solution would be necessary instead of telling people to back up files first, then replace the backup if the person dislikes said mod.
Come to think of it, this mod could work very well in VR. Could it work?
For the camera perspective toggle I'd have to add new coding or someone can put this option in trainer like jedi josh did for console. I normally just change codes to make stuff work but I'm always looking for something I can do. For uninstalling just overwrite the whole rpf file instead of replacing all of the small files individually. I just turn it into a zip file and easily extract it or drag it to a different folder. It can work in vr if there is an app somewhere that maps head movement to controller but the hands will have to be separate entities since they only work with animations in rdr.
