The latest version 2.2.0 released 03/01/2024 should have decent 1.0 Hotfix #4 compatibility!

IMPORTANT: If this is your very first time loading the map it may take up to 10 minutes or more to generate world data and may appear frozen during that time.

Also, I'm working on others maps (Hot Coffee and The Patriot Motel) so I hope you all enjoy this one in the meantime. Thank you for your patience!


SUMMARY:

A Florida Man - A tense hostage situation has come to a head following a failed home invasion. Rescue the elderly Korean War veteran, James MacIntyre, and bring the hostage takers to justice.

Florida Nights (A Trailer In Darkness) - Set over year after the original events in A Florida Man, the already declining neighborhood has further fallen into near complete disarray. SWAT has been authorized to serve a warrant for two properties currently believed to be associated with methamphetamine and fentanyl production and distribution.

NOTE: Both maps will show a Barricaded Suspects due to current modding limitations, but will load the appropriate game mode for the scenario.


NEW FEATURES:

  • Two Distinct Maps/Scenarios - A Florida Man & Florida Nights (A Trailer In Darkness)
  • Visual and Audio Overhaul - A shit ton of detail work, lighting tweaks, brand new audio, and particle systems.
  • Custom Game Modes & Objectives - Maybe your purpose isn't just kill everything that moves.
  • Player Start Selectable Spawns and Fully Detailed Briefing - Be tacticool with your friends.
  • In Game Map / Overview - Look at your cell phone in a video game!
  • Assault Ladders - Go ahead and yeet through that window.
  • Custom AI Archetypes - Hostage takers might just shoot the hostage in their big stupid hostage face now.
  • QSM Support - Pew pews sound more like fuzzy bloop bloops depending on your position in the level.
  • Improved Breakable and Physics - Lots of small items will now either shatter or go flying.
  • Exploders - Careful what you stand beside during a gun fight.
  • Special Closets - AI may be hiding in a closet waiting to come out at just the right time.
  • (Mostly) Realistic Doors - As a non-lizard person real human I've wasted countless cycles trying to PUSH open every door in my humanbeing real life.
  • Multiplayer Friendly Doors - Doors now display properly for both hosts and clients.
  • AI Cover System - AI will hide and use cover appropriately.
  • Suspect Blockers / Navigation Fixes - Suspects will no longer run outside to their death in the first 15 seconds of the map.
  • Improved Randomized AI Spawning - Not always the same experience.
  • License Plates - Suck it VOID I did it here first.

KNOWN ISSUES:
  • World Generation is the new normal (again). The map will take a few actual minutes stuck at 0:00 the first time you load while it generates cover points, AI door stacking, etc. If you run into issues with stacking please clear out any old world generation data for the map under <YOURUSER>/appdata/local/ReadyOrNot/Saved/SaveGames
  • Multiplayer - Host/Clients load in fine from the Ready Room. Upon restarting / retrying the mission clients get stuck. Kind of annoying but you'll need to back out and start from the Ready Room with friends.
  • Sometimes the hostage doesn't spawn very close to the hostage takers.
  • The hostage takers can shoot the hostage but sometimes (often) he'll just be incapacitated making for an easy win.
  • Mission briefing audio is a little hacky because it is. The stop/fast forward/rewind buttons don't function properly (press play again to pause).
  • Grenades and Launchers will break glass but are deflected. Launchers especially really don't work on windows. I had to make some compromises unfortunately.
  • AI doesn't use assault ladders - real keyboard operators only.
  • AI doesn't use sliding doors - ...also real keyboard operators only.

INSTRUCTIONS:

To install the mod, simply drop the Pak file into the Paks folder in your Ready or Not directory located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Ready Or Not\ReadyOrNot\Content\Paks.
