    Update (Brief Summary at the end):
    I do apologize for waiting almost a year to make this post but this mod has been dead and inactive since December 19, 2022. Thank you to anyone who has downloaded and/or endorsed it since then though I don't know why you would/did since I left the mod in such a rough state. When I originally made this mod, I was very active in Ready Or Not and had plans to further refine it as time went on as this was AI config that I would normally play and had played it for nearly a year prior to posting.

    However, when the Adam Update came out, I had virtually hit a brick wall that was not only preventing me from further developing this but even playing the game. While I am aware that the area that I live in is very limited in internet speed and availability, I was able to host a lobby of 7-9 people with this AI config and another mod. When the Adam Update was released, I could not even host a server with more than 3 people without everyone crashing out due to insane ping with even the game completely crashing if I played on some maps, AND THAT WAS WITHOUT THIS MOD ENABLED. I had done everything to try and remedy this issue: updating drivers, clearing cache, updating Windows, running Vanilla, contacting internet provider, reinstalling the game 3X, etc. with little to no improvement to my situation. I had made attempts to make blind improvements to this mod, hoping that the release of a hot-fix would be the answer to my conundrum, but it wasn't.

    In search of answers, I created a post in the RON Steam discussions regarding my issue and provided details on my steps of troubleshooting and attempts to resolve this issue. Around December 19, 2022 (I am not going to dig through Steam to find the exact date of this), one of the developers from RON replied to the discussion, telling me to do THE EXACT SAME THING THAT I HAD ALREADY DONE AND CLEARLY STATED DID NOT WORK. This reply from the developers felt like a complete slap in the face as if they were not going to put in the effort to fully read someone's troubleshooting plea, then how much do they really care about the game that they're producing and the people who play it? I suspect that optimization of the actual game was the only solution, though, with the lack of a s#*! given from the devs, this wasn't going to happen. Soon after, I uninstalled the game and refused to touch the game since. If I had not purchased RON back in January 2022 and had nearly 400 hours in the game, I would have requested a refund.

    As stated previously, I do apologize for taking 10 months to make this post but I didn't think people would still be using it after even a month, let alone 10. On another note, I was able to "recreate" RON in Arma 3 through a private modpack that I had put together. Some gigachad had managed to port the uniforms and gear over to Arma 3, and for some time, this included the gear that Void held behind their $75 paywall. While the missions I made were a bit crude and certainly could be polished, they had some nifty features that not even RON has such as an in-depth medical system, the ability to drive vehicles with functioning police lights and sirens including a Lenco Bearcat, wider selection of guns and equipment including from other agencies such as the DEA and U.S. Marshals Service, a coherent story for each scenario, and the ability to respawn. Surprisingly, hosting this for friends with a 100+ mod pack in Arma 3, I had the roughly same performance if not slightly better than when I was hosting for RON post-Adam update.



    TLDR: I abandoned Ready Or Not as a whole in December 2022 due to not being able to host a stable lobby to further mod refinement as a result of poor game optimization. Got blue balled by RON developers so I went and made my own version of RON in Arma 3 with slightly better performance but with more features and better control over it.

    any possible way you can make a variant to increase more suspects? preferably max if you can! or somehow make it compatible with working max suspect mods. I've been trying for a max suspect nightmare mode, thanks!

      Definitely not at the moment. I am currently looking into a major issue I am having regarding high ping, I would have lobbies crash out if I even have 5 people in them. To my knowledge, it shouldn't be an issue with the mod but rather the poor optimization of the game. I released the current update for the mod in an attempt to fix the issue, but it failed. As of now, I will not be adding any more suspects/assets into the game until Void optimizes their game because at the moment, other people can play my mod with little problem but I can't. I would add more suspects and traps if the game was better optimized and had larger maps.

      I would love to play around and create more variants of stuff like that, like creating a level where everyone has a bomb vest or a bomb defusal but every door is trapped, however, I would be unable to test or even play them. Perhaps in the future, I'll tinker around with those ideas but I would need to get my game fixed first before I can make any further progression.

    Released Version 2.1 of Vietnam Mode

    Check the Bug Report forum thread for the changelog. Please report ANY ISSUES with ping as I am currently troubleshooting an issue with that on my end.

    The recent hotfix from Void for Ready Or Not should have fixed many of the issues with this mod regarding lag on specific maps, such as hospital and ridgeline. Also, the mod seems to be working fine with the recent update of the In-game-Menu on mod.io. I am considering dialing back on the traps a bit, but let me know whether I should or leave it how it is for now. There is still the issue of taking a bit to load into the lobby after a mission however that can be expected with almost any Ai mods. If you encounter any bugs, please let me know over on the bug discussion forum for the mod here on Nexus.

      the traps are good, I play pub lobbies and let everyone know what theyre getting into, some people still kick open every door and it's funny watching them get blown up. My buddies like the tension, I do too. Maybe just make another version without traps? Everyone loves modularity.

      To be completely honest, I'm probably not got release a version that doesn't have traps because, as you mentioned, it is funny watching people die to traps, especially at the penthouse spawn.

      However, what I do plan on doing in a future update is dialing back the number of traps as a whole and even completely removing traps on some maps. While I do want there to be SOME traps to provide the opportunity for funny moments, I personally don't like how some maps seem like a minefield instead of CQB with the current config.

    Expect an update to this mod soon. I am also considering releasing an additional version of this mod that is essentially the same config but without the "Aimbot" for those who like how the levels are configured with the number of traps and suspects but wish to play it casually. I also plan on buffing the SWAT Ai to make them at least somewhat competent for those who play this on single-player.

      that would be great! my dream mod would be max suspects + max civilians (or as many as you can conceivably do without the game crashing), and enemies that are aggressive and eagerly try to kill you, but at the same time value their own lives and will surrender if they need to

      I love crazy Diehardesque insane firefights, but playing them still realistically and tactically.

    I do have plans to update this mod with the new Ready Or Not update however, it depends on when ronmodgenerator is going to be updated. I do not have the supporter edition and I don't think the creator of RMG has it either so expect a delay in the update of this mod.

    quite an overhaul! i play with No Swat so this will probably destroy me even at 400 hours but oh well
