My line has Whitter to Bryson unlocked. With Ela as the only non-terminus station, the line set to point-to-point, "StopAt All Stations" selected, heading west from Whittier, when the train arrives at Bryson, I have to manually change the direction of the locomotive. This is not a true annoyance, but it is more so that I thought passenger helper would change its direction automatically. If you could clarify this at all, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Hey, i liked the mod very much (I got about 30 Trains a day to Alarka), so helpful, but since the last update i cant open inspections windows on trains when mod is active. Any suggestions?
Is there a way to add so that the trains transfer in Bryson instead (I do this out of personal preference)? I could do it for the Alarka one as I set it to go to Bryson and terminus, but my main passenger can't because it's not a terminus station
On a technical level, yes. But I’m not really obliged to do it because of the excessive logic required to facilitate such a feature and the increased chance for bugs.
you can do it manually by choosing to pause at Bryson, unselecting pick up for the transfer stations and then once the train has departed, reselecting the pick up for those stations.
Having slept on it a bit, I can at least look into the feasibility of adding it. I don’t make any promises I’ll implement it though.
when I was creating this feature of transfer passengers, I thought long and hard about what would qualify as a transfer station. I originally had it where any station could be a transfer station. But I ran into a lot of bugs that quickly became burdensome. If I add Bryson, it kind of sets the expectation that I would add others.
your particular case was actually something I considered. But the reason I ultimately decided against it is because the transfer passengers in that case would likely be going to Alarka anyway, and you would have passed by Alarka Jct, so a user could just drop them there.
I’ll look into and consider it next time I sit down with the mod.
hey im new to railroader and saw your mod and decided to try it out. does it work with the new built in timetable option? ive noticed weird behavior between the schedule and passenger helper where the train would run its timetable i set up and then at the end wait about 30 minutes and then reverse run the route out of schedule
should i be using the timetable with this mod at all or no?
It “works” with timetable, as you have discovered.
there’s no harm in using them in conjunction with each other. But from what I’ve heard, people find better results using PH without TimeTables.
there is a process you could do to make them both work together better. Just pause at terminus and then when the train gets there, change the time table train to the next time table and then click the continue button and in theory that should work.
Again, thank you for your VERY useful mod! It has truly positively impacted my Railroader experience. In fact, I'd say if it weren't for this mod, I probably wouldn't mess with passengers at all, which means I'd probably have lost interest in the game already.... so thank you for that!
What I would find useful is the option to NOT change direction at the Terminus stations. This would facilitate using the pax loop mods to keep the train engine-forward AND still allowing for holding for a full load at the terminus.
As an aside, I'm a real world C# programmer and am curious how these mods are written. Would you be open to a conversation about how you develop your mod(s)?
WAIT... don't yell at me! I found the git hub AND read the .md files... lo and behold, you anticipated my desire already with LOOP mode! SORRY for the stupid question... :)
The redundant question is withdrawn, but the kudo's remain!
just downloaded this mod yesterday. while i will say it is a useful mod, one thin i hope gets added is for the trains to be able to flip switches themselves like in waypoint mode, one train just went right thru Bryson because the switches weren't set to the platform.
If waypoint mode gets better, I might consider it. But the spirit of the mod was to automate the annoying parts of passenger service, namely reversing at terminus stations, selecting the right stations based on your route and enabling transfer passenger service. I think the mod really does accomplish those things well.
I won’t rule it out entirely, however it won’t be a short or medium term feature.
Thanks for fixing it for the combined patch. I am having an issue where it only lets me have 2 trains set up at once and the 3rd does nothing. The third is the Alarka branch if that helps

Whittier to Bryson is west, Bryson to Whittier is east.
Whittier and Bryson need to both be point to point.

there is no limit to the number of passenger trains you can have. If problem persists, msg me on discord.
