In the video you posted, it looks like you're just sliding around instead of walking/running. I get that md2 isn't skeletal and doesn't blend animations so things like shooting will make you just slide around like that even in the vanilla game... but even when you're not shooting it doesn't seem to animate the legs. I haven't tested in-game myself, just going off the footage you're using to show off the mod. It makes it look pretty bad in comparison to the normal third-person cameras sourceports usually have imo regardless of how advanced the collision detection and other features may or may not be.
That's because I haven't figured out how to update the state machine properly in the source code, I'll provide an update as soon as possible. Notice that I documented the whole process very clearly on github.
