Great mod! I'm just having a hard time rebinding the hook to mouse4 instead of space
Im writing "bind mouse4 +hook" in autoexec and binding space to +moveup in keybinds
but its not working, how can I rebind hook to something else correctly?

      Hello, thank you!
I'm not aware of this problem and I have a simpler mouse.
Maybe the key is not named "mouse4", it seems that in the Quake 1 remaster it can be "mouse_misc1" or "mouse_misc2".
You can try to rebind a random action to your mouse button from inside the game menu, then see the content of keybinds.cfg to guess the key name.

You can just delete the autoexec.cfg file from the "fasterquake2" folder to remove the hook key. I remember a time where I got weird behavior with keys automatically added to keybinds.cfg, maybe you can also reset this file if you still have a hook key after deleting autoexec.cfg.

Awesome work. Default speed of switching weapons makes me mad.

I played some levels, than found your mod. Moved old saves to fasterquake2 folder. But after loading it keeps saving it to baseq2 folder. Is there a way to make proper save file with my progress?

      Thank you :)
I see for the savegames, I noticed this kind of behavior when I renamed my mod, it seems that the savegame files have an hard-coded path inside, so the new saves after loading are created in the old directory anyway. I do not know how to fix this properly.
I've updated the documentation with a new section "Save games import" with detailed instructions for this problem.

Thank you so much, Yrelof! It makes Q2 so much more fun.

Amazing mod that improves the gameplay making the enemies less bulletspongy. You can adjust the parameters within the settings.cfg
For example reduce the players damage a bit and enable some features again that this mod disables on default. I actually like some of the Stroggs dodging and jumping.

The documentation doesnt make it clear enough imo.
Just add the lines to the settings.cfg beginning with "set " - if not, they wont change anything. For example:
    "set ff_player_damage_sent_multiplier 2"

      Thank you
And nice to see that the customizable variables are useful.
I update the doc for the next release to be clearer about variables.

      Nice. : >
Its actually obvious but I needed a few minutes to understand why the changes wont affect anything. Heureka.

Something else I noticed: I needed to make the settings.cfg read only. The changes were wiped after I played and closed the game or at start, I'm not sure and if its just on my end.

And thanks again. Quake 2 doesnt get enough love imo and the new campaign is really awesome.
I needed a few restarts to appreciate it. Especially coming from more modern games like Turbo Overkill.
Now I like Q2 more than Q1 actually.

Your settings.cfg override is strange, I do not have this problem.
I just released the v2 of the mod with a better grapple, and now the campaign difficulty impacts ff_player_damage_sent_multiplier, the hard difficulty choice corresponds to 2 :)
