1.6: - added a new PreferLooseFiles setting which gives priority to loose/unpacked files in the game folder over the files inside .rcf packages. You can now mod the files contained inside .rcf without needing to unpack the whole .rcf first as most mod guides needed you to previously, almost like a mod-loader for the game, should work with majority of files in the game but unsure if it works with all of them, any feedback is appreciated! - Added EnableDevMenu setting to enable the P1 "dev menu" option on main menu, and the tilde-key menu on pause screen
1.5.1: - added a new MaxSampleRate setting which adjusts the max sample rate supported by the game, the default value should let audio work properly across almost all audio device sample rates now, but if you notice any audio issues you can disable this by changing it to 0 - fixed FOVOffset so that negative offsets can work properly (thanks to kwqweasd for reporting!)
1.5: This adds a new FixButtonTapTickRate setting which should be able to help with the button-mashing sections when using RemoveTickRateLimit, no more needing to break your controller to hijack vehicles! (this fix may affect other things that require button-mashing, if you encounter anything that seems off with it, or any other issues that happen with RemoveTickRateLimit enabled, please let me know!)
1.4a: AMD/DXVK users: the 1.4a version should now include a fix for the AMD shadow issue (there's no option in INI for it, it'll always be enabled automatically)
I don't actually have an AMD card to check with though, so would appreciate hearing from any AMD/DXVK users that try it out!
No matter what my fps always stays at 54-60 with a few small dips, specs: ryzen 5 3600 and rx vega 64. I have changed the amd fps limiter to 165 and the config fps limit to 165. (edit- just completed tutorial and game runs at like 20fps (2nd edit (sorry lol) game capped my windows display settings to 50hz and changes it back to 50hz everytime i load up the game)
for some reason the hid patch makes the game not recognize the numbers on my keyboard (numpad ones and not numpad, including f1-f12), disabling it made it work again
This works pretty well, but it dosen't work with Texmod, it gives me an error.

Worked like a charm for me. I installed the game and immediately copied over the mod files before launching the game for the first time. For reference, I'm running Windows 11 with an i5-12400, RTX 4060TI, 32GB RAM on a 1440p 144Hz monitor. I didn't need to modify any settings in the configuration file for this mod. No crashes, and the game looks and plays well.
Note: I did have to bump up the mouse sensitivity in the game settings by quite a lot (I think I raised it to 18 and I may take it higher), but that's probably because this game is so old that the sensitivity was designed for much smaller resolutions than what we use nowadays.
Huge props to the mod developer. Thanks for helping me relive a part of my childhood with this game!
I think problems persist even with this mod. I'm having a semi-freeze issue with Side missions and semi-freeze is what else I can call it since I'm still able to move the camera but nothing else.
