Yeah this might happen since they are using the same prefab folders containing the modded files. You can use the old version that's still available in the older files.
Nevermind, renaming patch2025_PREY_Enhanced_Mod.v1.1.4 to the previous version name made my save load and apparently work. (Probably changing Load Order, have been)
But I have to point a bug with your mod, happens even with only your mod active : https://i.imgur.com/FihIG3u.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/NyeIIBz.png (This is Cargo Bay Hull Breach entrance but i had that at few other locations)
I don't know how to properly describe it, at some places, there's like LOD fight based on where you're looking at. Weird clippling meshes that pop-in/pop-out. Affects all versions.
EDIT: Here's a video of it https://youtu.be/WvErk6a1-Xg
Hi. Could you please not rename the file? It creates problems when updating. And do I understand correctly that there was previously 1 file patch_Z_prey_QoL_Mod.v.1.1.2.pak and only it needs to be replaced?
I really like this mod, however there is an issue I'm having in that views of space (including when spacewalking) are not black, but rather like the light from the sun has lit up an empty backdrop - where the space texture should be is a kind of cream/coffee coloured matte texture. Is there a way round it? The game is good enough that its not the end of the world, but it is immersion breaking?
After you have downloaded this mod you need to open it ( I used 7Zip and then the Open Archive option ) and delete " Milky_Way_A.mtl " which you will find in Objects\sky\Milky_Way_A.mtl
Then you install the mod as instructed and that's all there is to it.
The space textures went back to normal after I did this.
So I've been using this mod tor a few days now and I'm really loving it but there's a couple issues I've encountered that no one has has found or at the very least has brought up. I have no other mods installed, just yours.
First issue: I'm using an Xbox Series X controller and when i pull up the weapon wheel the suit repair key which is bound to the Left Bumper (which is default) is removed. When i go into keybinds menu, it won't let me bind to anything and its completely unusable. I've tried swapping control schemes, resetting the controls back to default, no luck. Any ideas? It's not earth shattering because I can just go into my inventory and repair the suit that way.
Second issue: This happens completely random but I see it occur the most in Crew Quarters, when I crouch or slowly move around anywhere near a door with a keypad if its in my field of vision the keypad glitches out and becomes huge (I really dont know how to explain this lol) and goes through floor and stretches across the screen. Like if you took a png of the the red keypad texture and used the warp tool in photoshop on it, thats essentially whats happening. Also no big deal. Just curious if you were aware and had ideas on how to fix it. Thank you for this mod!
(First issue) I am aware of the bug about the suit repair key in the weapon wheel. Weirdly enough, I never changed any control scheme in the files. So I'm not sure how this even happened as I never edited any control files. I played through the entire game with my mod (on keyboard) and I noticed that this button was "blank" in the weapon wheel. I just settled to using my inventory. Furthermore, I originally thought this was just a key bind issue, but i never actually tried to re-bind the key myself because I didn't realize it was the mod that's causing it.
(Second issue) lol wtf! I didn't have any graphical issues like that when I played through the campaign with my mod installed. How often does this happen? Does it only happen when crouching? (could be a FOV issue??)
The files I edited are linked to all physical and intractable things like monitors, switches, lights and toilets etc. But I never made monitors or keypads "movable by player". They are static, as they should be, otherwise the entire game would break and hinder players to progress the story or cause massive graphical glitches.
The game was fine during my play through, and I interacted with keypads with no issue.
I will try and see if there is anything i can do to fix it.
Extract the contents of the mod .pak that's in the Precache folder with 7zip or something similar. You can also change the extension from .pak to .zip and open it that way.
Then go to Libs/Config/defaultProfile.xml and open it with a text editor
Search for "use_healing_item"
Under that line, insert this: <action name="use_armor_item" onPress="1" xboxpad="xi_shoulderl" ps4pad="pad_l1" keyboard="z" steam="game:sc_l1"/>
Should look like this: https://i.imgur.com/awYibFq.png
Save defaultProfile.xml
Take all the folders you unpacked (Ark, Levels, Materials, Libs, Objects), and make a zip containing all of them.
Name the zip whatever the original pak was named, and change the extension to .pak
Go back to Precache and replace the original mod with the .pak you just made.
Can confirm that NiceKossy's solution works. If you see "java-event-stripped" in his code line though, that is not correct. Some filtering thing that nexus is doing. Look at the imgur link he used for the correct line. It is "on---Press---=" (without the hyphens, if that imgur goes away just look at the "use_healing_item" line from defaultProfile.xml, it's formatted the same way. Alternatively, if you look at this thread in the forum, the filtering should not be happening there.
EDIT: Hey VAXI, my motion blur setting keep defaulting to low, is that right? Also, "Deferred View Distance" keeps changing to "83". The test of the settings in the Mod Advanced Menu can be changed.
Hi, I know this is an almost 2 year old response. But when I do the steps you have written about, then the "mod options" under the "video" tab in options disappears. The resulting file size after making a zip file is a bit larger than the original .pak. Does the zip file need to be ziped to a specific compression level?
Because I don't see the "mod" options in the "video options" I would assume that the mod does nothing. Any way to have the suit hotkey while the mod actually works?
I like this mod but something about it occasionally causes massive framerate issues that persist even after relaunching the game. Uninstalling immediately fixes these framerate issues so it definitely seems to be this mod specifically. It seems to happen most often after fighting thermal and etheric phantoms.
same here, except i just loaded in to my final act save when theres a bunch of coral around talos, and it seems that slows things down all the same lol

New patch available.
See the description for changelogs.
More updates to come soon.
I know you didn't actually meant for them to be compatible in the first place but 1.1.2 was working with SHOCK, or atleast I wasn't crashing.
You can use the old version that's still available in the older files.
Sorry about this.

sorry for the rename. But it was sorta named wrong.
the version number of the old mod was 1.1.2.
lastest is v.1.1.4.
just delete the old one then it should be no trouble.
Thanks.
