This is what i would think for a lower level hacking thing, like why would you have less time to hack a low level thing than a high level thing, and wouldnt there be way less traps and obstacles in a lower level hacking thing
Brilliant mod. This is the most poorly conceived hacking minigame that I have ever come across in any game. It is not the least bit fun. Thanks for changing that for us.
Hey, I was hoping you or anyone could help me out with how to get these mods to activate. Even with tutorial videos, and placing mods like this in the correct precache folder (both original and whiplash version for mooncrash) it seems i can not get them to work/activate. I have tried pasting the original .pak as well as unzipping them and placing the contents and no luck. i am unsure if it is a version issue (though i do not see any version differences) but any mod i have tried so far seems to not have any affect. do you happen to have any ideas or tips, otherwise i am prettymuch SOL. Thanks!
For anyone interested, I've made an updated version of this mod (with the author's permission) that fixes the issue with some hacks not working, moved the nodes closer to each other, and removed the randomized button prompts.
Great stuff!! I was about to quit playing Prey due to my dislike of and ineptitude at hacking, now I'm really enjoying it. As someone else mentioned, if on the odd occasion the hack doesn't clear the obstacles, save, close, restart and try again.
I noticed 2 locks that still needed me to do the minigame though: lvl 4 lock on Alex Yu's Computer (Arboretum) and the lvl 4 lock for the Grav Shaft just before Alex's room (Arboretum)
Thank you for this mod!!! Made the game much more enjoyable for me. The mod fails to work on very rare occasions (try to hack and looks like a normal hack), but getting out of the game and back in solves the issue. (save before hacking). Yes, I will quit the game and get back in to avoid hacking, I hate it that much.Ever grateful.
Perfect for subsequent playthroughs, I've only noticed two lvl 4 locks not working, one a safe in Deepstorage and Alexs' Terminal on his office also lvl 4. Thankfully lvl 4 is less annoying than lvl 2 to do legitimately.
