Uploaded a new version. The old version has been set as an optional file.
The new version has a lower damage out put from the player as several people reported double damage output to be too high. This version is slightly more balanced. Yu WILL still deal more damage to Typhon (stealth attacks are especially brutal) but it will take slightly more hits than the previous version.
THIS WILL MAKE LOW LEVEL TYPHON EASIER TO KILL! Yes you can easily kill mimics and phantoms if you get the drop on them. That's intentional. Fighting voltaics, technopaths etc will still be a challenge (as it should be).
"But but but combat focus and psychoshock and EMP grenades" - This mod does not address the PREY powers and abilites. They are highly effective against various enemies. This mod is not going to stop you disabling a Typhon with the correct power/item and running up to it and blasting it to death with a shotgun or your wrench. In fact you SHOULD be rewarded for doing that. It's called using tactics.
This is an interesting idea for a mod, but I don't know if it addresses the core problems of the game. The issue I see is that some players enjoy solving puzzles and have little interest in the combat portion of the game. And others are the opposite. So, at the easier difficulty levels there is too much combat. And at the higher difficulty levels there is too much puzzle solving. Story difficulty level shouldn't have any combat at all, and nightmare should allow you to accomplish your goals with combat alone. Without completely altering the game, the only solution I see is adjusting things so that there are both combat and non-combat methods for accomplishing your goals and to adjust the combat difficulty from zero to insane as you go up in difficulty level. Maybe adjusting the loot drops for dead bodies vs the Typhon could accomplish the first goal. Although, so far I haven't figured out how to control the drops of keycards for opening certain doors or perhaps some way to bypass this mechanism entirely.
Your mod adds new traumas and new ability to heal those traumas via new skill and new items. I cannot find that skills, where is it? I'm using existing save.
I had one person point out that increasing weapon damage has the side effect of making some the more OP Typhon abilities (like Combat Focus and Psychoshock) even MORE ridiculously powerful. That is very, very true. Sadly the base game has many powers that get so crazy by the end of the game.
I would suggest that you also look at my other mods to add with this one. In particular the hardcore mod really increases difficulty by adjusting things like skill costs and reducing resources
Started a new game on Nightmare, also using your other mods, difficulty feels spot on now. It's hard to tell when mimics are around and they actually hurt, but don't take much to kill either. This really feels how the game should have been at launch
That's great to hear. Let me know how it goes on as difficulty ramps and you have to deal with more hazards, zero-g, etc. There always tends to be something we haven't considered. (Plus I'm just generally curious how others feel about the game - I typically try to make things extremely frustrating for ME so that if *I* am struggling and dying a lot then I know i'm close to where the hardcore crowd wants it to be... you masochistic bastards jk)

I might do this, but it will only work with a brand new game (no way to do it with an existing save)
