I finally found the time to update the mod and resolve some outstanding issues:
v1.9.1: * Fixed a regression that caused the previously added auto reapply to break the near FOV entirely when zooming * Moved automatic reapply for 'Near/Weapon FOV' into dedicated option 'Near FOV Reapply'
v1.9: * Added option to disable notifications (sound) for gaining Sim Points in Mooncrash * Changed motion blur option to allow disabling camera and object effects individually * Note that previously object motion blur was always disabled, which altered the appearance of certain Typhon (see below) * Also note that this results in resetting the motion blur option in existing configs * Extended 'Near/Weapon FOV' option to prevent FOV from being reset after certain QTE/first-person events * Added experimental option for scaling 'near' effects with 'Near/Weapon FOV' option * Examples for this are fullscreen effects such as when targeting PSI abilities * Fixed support for GOG version of the game * Note that since one of the last updates, the GOG version differs technically from the Steam version and now has to be supported separately * Fixed a bug that caused the max FPS limit to set to 1 when generating config presets * Fixed a regression that broke the 'Timed' behavior of 'Show Dynamic UI' in v1.8 * Fixed object motion blur always being disabled regardless of setting * Fixed a bug that cause 'Interaction Direct Use' option not working reliably (no more unintentionally shooting/wrenching screens!) * Fixed a regression that caused the 'Objective Markers' options to be mapped incorrectly or work not at all * Note that there is still a known issue with combined markers (see Known Issues above for details) * Setting the 'Skip Second Loading Screen' option now shows a warning regarding effects in Mooncrash DLC
I'm getting a "Memory could not be written" after the very last scene (handshake) in the game. The stats appear and when you press any key the game crashes. Removing the Interface customizer files from the game fixes it.
Cannot get this to open on linux despite installing the 2015 -2022 vc and proton (steam's window compatibility layer) already contains the other requirement. It has to be missing some other requirement not detailed on the page or I am missing something obvious.
EDIT: Nevermind I got it to work, though I havent gone in game to see if it applied, but it did open the interface and I can save my options. I use Prey gog on heroic launcher, so what I did was this:
1. Select Prey on Heroic Launcher and make sure your wine version is a version that is up to date (I use proton ge 9-20, but I will switch to proton 7 as I hear it draws on less power with the same performance. If you do that, then make sure to run winecfg and switch the windows version to 10, but for now we will use proton ge-20 to install the dependencies.)
2. Press the three lines to open the settings and scroll down and click on winetricks. Then click on "OPEN WINETRICKS GUI". Once the winetricks window open, choose select the default wineprefix, then choose install a windows dll or component, which is the first option.
3. On the next page, scroll down and check the box next to dotnet471. Then click ok and just wait until it finishes, you will know it is finished when the winetricks window comes back with options to choose from again. It will take quite a while since it will download not just .net 4.7.1, but also other dotnet packages, so just be patient.
4. Once that installs, choose install a windows dll or component again and now scroll down and check the box next to vcrun2019. Then click ok and just wait. Now you may get an error and winetricks will just close or not open again fully, but again be patient and do not do anything until you are sure, as it will say in the logs that it ends with Done if there are no processes happening. This is fine, open winetricks gui like we did before and go through the same options of select default wineprefix, but then choose run uninstaller. On this page you should see your dependency of MS .net framework 4.7.1, and what we want to se is if MS VC 2015-2022 redistributable appears. You will know it does if it says it under the .net framework 4.7.1, and if anything you can sure with clicking on the MS VC 2015-2022 and then click on support information. On that page that comes up will be the info that says it is the needed dependency.
5. Now just install the mod as you would into the directory. Once installed, open Prey again in heroic launcher, then open settings, then scroll down and drag and drop the primary interface exe onto where it says "RUN EXE ON PREFIX". Or you can click on "RUN EXE ON PREFIX" and just navigate to the directory where the exe is and click on the exe. It will open shortly and you may see a black box appear with an ok button on it, click that ok and it will open the interface mod. Enjoy!
Any way to make it so that PRIC fixes issues caused by setting the r_supersampling cvar to 2? (such as not being to interact with interactive monitors)
I decided to revisit Prey after many years 'left on the shelf'. This mod fixes/improves many of the games shortcomings and annoyances and is a must for those of us who have triple monitors. Thank you.
