This mod allows you to start Portal with any resolution you want. Portal has a hard limit in place that prevents it from using any resolution larger than your monitor's resolution. This mod removes that hard limit and allows you to start Portal at any resolution.
Some things that this mod enables:
Make sure the Display Mode is set to Windowed or Windowed (No Border) in the game before using this mod.
To install the mod, then copy the version.dll and spoofres.ini files to the bin folder in the game installation folder (ex: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Portal\bin). Edit the spoofres.ini file and change the resolution to your desired resolution. In Steam, edit the Portal launch options (see https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/7D01-D2DD-D75E-2955) and add the following "-w 3840 -h 2160" but with your desired resolution.
To uninstall, remove the Steam Portal launch options and delete the version.dll and spoofres.ini files.

- start Portal with a 4K resolution for recording purposes even if you are running it on a 1080p monitor
- start Portal with a resolution that spans multiple monitors without having to resort to Nvidia Surround or AMD Eyefinity
