Hello Gabboi! As you are an active modder of PZ and I've been searching for about an hour trying to find an answer on this... I just tried to get back into modding, but the new .fdb files that I have can't be opened by SQLite. I have some old .fdb files I unpacked about a year ago and those open just fine. Do you happen to know why that's happening and how to properly open the files? 😅 thanks so much for your work, btw!
I honestly barely know how fdbs work since I don't do new species coding, have only looked at them for remasters and so far opened them without issue no matter the game version. Try getting on the modding discord server and asking there
These mods did not require ASCE before 1.10, correct? I've added most of the mods from Planet Zoo Plus by replacing the files in the data folders during 1.9 update.
Now I have to install ACSE? But it seems that mod has not been updated since February.
It needs ACSE because this is no longer a replacement mod, so you can install it as any other new species and it will not only replace the animals in game, with this method we're able to also change the UI to get a more consistent visual style with the remastered models. ACSE itself enables this type of mods to function, it doesn't really need an update so february one is safe.
So if I have all these files from 1.9, which replaced the default versions of the animals, do I just Install ACSE and then readd the modded files? Will they conflict with the past versions which are currently in the ovldata content folders, or simply replace them without issue?
The ACSE remasters don't replace a single file, if you're using the old replacement remaster (the one where you had to replace files inside Content0), it may not work, we haven't tested old files since we're no longer making replacement mods, only ACSE remasters from now on. If you downloaded the ACSE one for 1.9 (the Remaster_Siberian_Tiger folder in ovldata) then that should work on 1.10 as long as you have ACSE installed.
All remasters will replace the animals inside your game, but ACSE remasters do it without replacing files on your pc, those are the ones you should be using.
Haha I'm also responsible for this last iteration of the tiger, so you're welcome lol, and obvs thanks to Havok for letting me work on his remasters :)
I'm currently trying to find a way to improve the model and the texture, so I can make a total overhaul for the mod. In the meantime, if you read the description, there are a few tips to follow in order to make the mod work.
