I'm really excited to see someone making a dodo! However, I'm saddened by the fact that it's reflecting a lot of misinformation. But rather than just attack you for no reason, I'd like to present some sources you may wish to view so your dodo can be even better!
Mansur's dodo painting is pretty trust-worthy since every other bird here is true-to life, though apparently the particular specimen he painted was overfed.
We don’t know it’s real colors and many depictions of dodos are gray. Look at the one in the Oxford University Museum, It’s Gray. Also what color do you think is “Accurate”?
We actually do know the accurate coloration of dodos if you bothered to do more than 2 seconds of research Gerbiro. The grey palette is outdated and wrong, it was taken from people who had never seen a live dodo in their life.
You realize we could both be right, dodo's color's may have changed during mating season, They could've been a greyish brown color when its not mating season but during mating season they would look more like the painting.
The mating season thing could be true, or, O R, hear me out, keep the original colors, and make them the female color, and use the painting's colors for the male. win-win
Alright a lot of people here are bitching 'dodos aren't gray. This is a museum specimen and its gray I think y'all can shut up and appreciate this beautiful dodo we've been given (Absolutely love the mod thank you!!!) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodo#/media/File:Oxford_Dodo_display.jpg
Mauritius "GRAY" Dodo? does this imply there are other species of dodos in other colors? like Mauritius Green Dodo, Mauritius Red Dodo, Mauritius Blue Dodo, etc.?
They are believed to be a Grayish Brownish mix most of the time but sometimes ( like many other birds like loons) they’re colors might’ve become brighter during mating season.

- This restoration seen in David Attenborough’s Natural History Museum Alive does a pretty convincing job at dodo locomotion, and importantly how a modern interpretation differs from classical depictions. The whole TV movie is on DailyMotion I believe, you should watch it if you have the time!
- John Niehuss made a dodo that is simply amazing! He used a lot of references for it too
- Last but not least, here's a great article on dodos that's definitely worth a read!
I hope this all helps!?
what species tag for the enrichment?? love the mod btw <3Ustad Mansur
