This mod is brilliant, thank you very much! I couldn't tell whether or not I had installed it correctly, because it didn't seem to make any changes at first. Then I saw the note "Check graphics options for 'book of torment'" and I figured out how to select the different skins for the journal, dialogue, inventory. Just wanted to leave this note in case anyone else is confused.
Nicely done. But I think shared inventory layout could use more darker background... Or I'd even say opaque, like in original. That would make sorting your stuff less distracting. Hope you consider adding another theme.
Strange. As if it doesn't find the paths for the files correctly. To make the mod work without installing via weidu - you can copy the files from each folder (from "BookOfTorment\copy" dir) to override. But this way one inventory mode ("in game world") will not be 100% functional.
Yes! I got the same error at first. But then I realised that I should not move files from 'BookOfTorment' to the game root folder (where Torment.exe is located). 'BookOfTorment' folder itself should be put inside the game root folder.
This is incredible. Fantastic work. I've replayed this so many times over the years. I was gonna play it on my laptop just now and this makes the dialogues much more immersive and easier to read.
Hi, u did a great job, love it! I've questiion: how can I make it work with Russian translation? Cuz right now there are symbols instead of text, when I try to combine it.
Hi, and thanks, on behalf also of FallDamage312 ;).
Hm, which texts? It should be all in English (for all languages), there are no translations provided, and you can't provide them in this mod (I tried, but it didn't work out) Sorry.
Or you mean the text in the dialogues...? It is possible that it is the fault of the font.
Then try replacing the font from the mod (LibrBskr) with your font - just copy it and rename it the same (in mod folder, if you want reinstall or override if won't). Should work.
Hi, I'm trying to install the mod. Once I've installed the portraits and Weidu mods, where in the files should I copy Book of Torment? Sorry for my english, it's not my primary language.
Hmm, you say "Weidu mods" - you mean diffrent mods? Maybe it is not compatible ;).
You should move the BookOfTorment folder next to Torment.exe, you also need the Setup-BookOfTorment.exe file (rename it from weidu.exe - link: https://github.com/WeiDUorg/weidu/releases), with which you install the mod.
(I just also uploaded a new version of the mod (v1.38b). There is in description alternative download if any problems occur.)
Screenshots: Hello, I find the mod fascinating, love the disco elysium esc look. I've run into an issue, the sliders on the options menu don't appear? and also when you go in go ingame, every time a dialog box should appear, instead the hud dissapears and you get stuck. I've tried desinstaling the game and reinstalling the mod a few times with no avail, and I don't know how else to troubleshoot it, could you give me some ideas?
Check that all files have copied correctly to the override folder in game dir, from BookOfTorment\copy folders (in particular: M__.lua and M_SLDRS.lua).
Hi ! Thank you for answering I believe they are? Tried the portrait conversations as a standalone and it works. Reinstalled again the game and both mods as per instructions and manually copied from the /copy folder into the /override folder but it's still broken. If you got out of ideas don't worry, am starting to believe it could be anything that's causing the issue.
Hmm, strange, it should work ;), I checked on Steam and GOG and it is OK. The only thing I can think of is the old version of the game (the latest is 3.1.4.0), as there it lacked support for external .lua files as far as I know (you can check the versions of the game in the start screen in the bottom right corner).
