Great idea. Does this work for other languages, for example polish?

No, at the moment only English localization is supported.

Here is the thing. In most other games the values are like +1 repuation or +1 approval. Instead your mod doesn't say +1 approval for companions before selecting it so that we know which responses to choose for the best outcome.. So I am trying to figure out how this mod works in relation to gaining companion approval.

Didn't exactly get what you meant by "mod doesn't say +1 approval for companions before selecting it".
Can you explain in more detail: what you're expecting to see, what you're seeing instead and in which phrase does it happen ?

Ok. There are mods like this out there for other games. Pathfinder Kingmaker is a good example. When in conversation with an NPC and you get conversation options usually where you have after each choice where you have [Pro-Duty][Pro-Passion] other mods like this will have [+1 to Xoti, +1 Eder, -1 Aloth] for companion approval or disapproval.

Instead there is none of that so it doesn't tell me if my choice is going to positively or negatively affect the characters opinion of me in game.

So what I am expecting to see is the example above where it has +1 or -1 approval for companions. This will let a person know if they are going to gain or lose approval rating with a companion in their party. The [Pro-Duty][Pro-Passion] does not tell me anything when playing beyond that the choice is [Pro-Duty][Pro-Passion].

Your mod literally states that this can help a person max out their approval rating with all party members, but it can't do that if people have no idea which choices will affect their companion approval meter.

      Ah I see now.

The reason this mod does it differently is because unlike Pathfinder, BG3 and so on, Deadfire uses topics as a way to change approval and I don't want to completely side-step this system. So it's "...  [Impassioned]" instead of "... [+1 Xoti] [+1 Serafen]" in dialogue because you can see everyone's preferences in reputation screen.
Basically what it means is that when playing for the first time it's helpful to make a  screenshot of everyone's favorite topics and look at it when in doubt, at least until you memorize who likes what.

I thought for a second that this mod messed up the placement of Aloth's "Pride" reaction for Rabyuna's convo from Tekehu's chart to Player's one, but after a bit of research I found this thread: Minor Aloth Approval bugs - Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!) - Obsidian Forum Community, and so it appears that it was a pure coincidence that I installed your mod just before this conversation, and that the bug is still not fixed in 5.0! ;D
Anyway, other that "that" the mod seems to work just fine and do everything it is supposed to do ;)
    Great work, endorsed & thanks!

Great that you found the exact thread describing this problem!
I see that in game files speaker is incorrectly set as player char instead of Tekehu. So the bug is indeed still not fixed.

And to clarify for any similar issues - mod does not edit core game files, only exposes what's in them by editing localization.
So it can't change who actually receives the rep.
