About this mod

This mod simply adds the Prepared Meals requirement for clearing injuries while resting from Woedica's Challenge to Rymyrgand's Challenge, for those who want a resting system that actually incurs some resource management, without the per-rest vancian casting systems or lack of health regeneration after combat from Woedica's Challenge.

This mod was not created by me, it was created by Insidious from the Obsidian.net forums, and I got his permission to reupload it here on the Nexus. Here's his description of the mod from the Steam page!

Requires patch 4.00 or higher! Works with the Beta patch.

You are looking for a more challenging rest mechanic? You think exploring the
Deadfire is fun, but should include some meaningful resource management?
You feel like the per-encounter to per-rest mechanic of Woedica's
challenge is too restrictive? - This mod is for you!

It includes the food component of Woedica's challenge in Ryrmgand's
challenge, so starting a game with Rymrgand's challenge means that in
addition to food getting spoiled, only "Prepared Meals" will recover
injuries and resources.

Additional changes:

-Most food spoils ~50% later

-Hardtack and water spoil 100% later, but the ship morale impact is changed from -1 to -2.

How to use:
Access "Magran's Fire Challenges" by clicking the head of Magran (looks like a
gargoyle) at the bottom of the Main Menu. Search the Magran's Fire for
Rymrgand's challenge and activate it. You can combine it with any other
challenge you like (including Woedica's full challenge), other mods,
Berath Blessing's and on any difficulty.
It should affect older saves with Rymrgand's challenge activated.

Update:
-Adjusted spoil rates for some missing food from the DLCs

-Reduced crafting requirements for most food recipes

I find it an incredibly fun addition to the game. Its basically what I wanted from Rymrgand's Challenge in the first place. It actually got me to pay attention to cooking and managing my supplies when I never really had before, it actually gave Inns and Injuries an actual purpose, and it actually feels like I put some thought into what I'm gonna feed my party when we rest (not to mention, there's actually a risk of running out of food for once!). To me, this is the optimal resting system for Deadfire, allowing it to preserve all of the great gameplay innovation the sequel got while still having a resting system that's actually consistently relevant to ongoing gameplay. And it doesn't suffer from the "just run back to town" problem that Pillars of Eternity I's camping supply system suffered from either, since depending on how far you are out, that might not even be an option and you should stay prepared to avoid tragedy when you're far away from civilization.

It's a great experience, I really recommend it!
