    As a continuation of my older comment below, I have indeed gotten this to work, but it requires some basic edits.

    First, edit the metadata.yaml to match the following lines;

    includesConfigOverrides: false
    includesConfigEdits: false
    includesLibraries: false
    includesTextures: true
    includesLocalizationEdits: false
    includesLocalizations: false
    gameVersionMin: 1.1.0
    gameVersionMax:

    Second, rename the image files with a prefix; I added "DoLLS_" to the beginning of each, since they seem to conflict and get overwritten by the games defaults otherwise.  This was probably the main issue with them not showing up for me.

    That's pretty much it.  These portraits are found in the "overlays" option of the pilot edit screen.

    Edit; I was re-reading the mods description and noticed a slight error.  The mod file path has either been changed, or it is listed wrong in the description.  The correct path is as follows;
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\PhantomBrigade\Mods
    I am on windows 10, so it might be slightly different on a different OS/older version of windows.

      "These portraits are found in the "overlays" option of the pilot edit screen."

      And where is that "overlay" option of the pilot edit screen? I'm on version 1.1.3 and there's no such thing to be found anywhere. I can't even find a screenshot showing it anywhere.

      here
       since it will not let me embed the image.
      No idea why it is not showing up for you, but it should be right below the glasses.

      Also, sorry for the late response.

    With the recent release of the games official 1.1 patch, they have commented they are improving modding accessibility.

    Hopefully, this means we can see an improvement to mod injections and better mods in general.  Likewise, I hope this mod will become easier to utilize and implement.

    That and I hope the mod author will make any necessary adjustments to update this mod to work in newer patches.

    I really want this mod, if I'm going to suspend my sense of disbelief seeing a bunch of soiboy californians larping as soldiers, I might as well have them be anime girls.

    in the newest version all pilots had turn to 3D, so this lovely mod is no longer suitable. all we have to do is waiting to moder take over the 3d avatar

    I will provide the textures.
    Is there any way to use 2D images in the pilot image in version 1.3 or later?

      Will be hoping for an update as well. Love the game, but it needs more anime!

      Yeah, the in-game 3d pilots creator are...meh, at best. I rather have 2D with the option to put in your own custom pictures.
