The introduction of Backgrounds was a very welcome change from Kingmaker to Wrath of the Righteous. Unfortunately, with the exception of a couple very specific builds they are largely meaningless. This mod seeks to rectify that issue and ensure that Backgrounds which provide meaningful effects to a wide variety of characters are available. This is accomplished through three means:

1. Weapon proficiencies provide trait bonuses instead of enhancement. By default, characters already proficient in a weapon who select a Background that provides that proficiency receive a +1 Enhancement bonus when utilizing this weapon. This makes no sense, as one's background should not provide the same form of bonus as a magical item. This also stacks with Masterwork weapons because of how the bonuses are coded. Eligible characters now receive a +1 trait bonus when using the correct weapon which should provide a minor but meaningful use for the whole game.
2. Revamping of pre-existing backgrounds. Many of the backgrounds have had the skills and proficiencies they provide adjusted - some considerably.
3. Introduction of new backgrounds. Three brand new backgrounds (Knight, Skyseeker, and Templar) were created to fill what I felt were clear gaps in the current background array. I hope to add more as needs can be identified and new backgrounds developed to fulfill them.

DISCLAIMER: This mod is not made for installation with the Unity Mod Manager. Read the installation instructions very carefully. I am not a C# coder, therefore this mod was made utilizing Owlcat's Wrath Modification Template for Unity. Eventually this will be installable through the Steam workshop but until then there's no way around manual installation that I'm aware of.

Installation Instructions:
1. Navigate to user-folder/AppData/LocalLow/Owlcat Games/Pathfinder Wrath Of The Righteous/ and create a new folder named 'Modifications'.
2. Unzip the mod and place the 'BetterBackgrounds' folder and all its contents in there.
3. Create a file named 'OwlcatModificationManagerSettings.json' and place it within user-folder/AppData/LocalLow/Owlcat Games/Pathfinder Wrath Of The Righteous/    
*4. Open 'OwlcatModificationManagerSettings.json' in notepad and add the modification to it by inputting:
