AKB48 are a Japanese idol group named after the Akihabara (Akiba for short) area in Tokyo, where the group's theater is located. They are among the highest-earning musical acts in Japan, and is the fifth best-selling girl group worldwide. Team 8 is a subgroup of AKB48 where the members come from each of the 47 prefectures of Japan.
