does this have any effects out of the box? the screenshots show changed cattivas and chickpis but does it require a seperate download like the Lamball party pack to see any effects?
Currently this is a framework, and does not have any actual textures/models/etc inside!
I created the Lamball Party Pack for peeps who want to see a mod using this overhaul right away! But for the most part, any mods that make use of OK Overhaul will be separate from this mod entirely.
The Lucky Recolors mod you see in the description is still in development by Txoba's team of artists, and that will be available at a later date! Stay tuned for that!
Nvm. I found the resources. Get on the "Palworld Modding Discord" (https://discord.com/invite/palworldmods) select the "Modder role" in the role channel. In "Mod-development" channel the guide is posted. Detailed and thoroughly explaining how to implement functionality. FANTASTIC WORK OP!
@SirJamesio Glad to hear it! I'm considering moving the post to a more public space, that'll probably happen when I finish the video tutorials. Wish you luck on your endeavor!
OK Version 2.0 is completely clientside now! Players can have the mod and see Pal Variants across any server!
This does change the original vision I had where server hosts control what players can see, but you can absolutely recommend to others/your friends what mods to all try together!
This mod has a name search mechanism or can use a key word to find skins from different authors for the same pal, for example: Lamball_normal_1 Lamball_normal_2 Lamball_coward_1 Lamball_strong_1, So far I haven't been able to find any video explaining how this mod works or if it's possible to do this.
First, I wanna say thank you for this mod and thanks for keeping it updated. <3
I'm eagerly awaiting for more variants to be released and am kind of surprised I haven't seen more added yet. Do you know of any big ones that may be released soon? I really love the variation of the modded pals in game. It's really fun to see and I'm hoping to see new uploads soon. :)
So, on the other mods that use OK, some of them say they require UE4SS and yours USED to require it. If your framework is doing the background, does that mean that mods that say they need UE4SS will work without it? For example, will Chickipi Assorted Pack work without UE4SS if the OK framework no longer requires it?
Should work without it, correct! UE4SS was only used to deploy the 'Actor' that carried all the code. Now, the code is all included within the Pals themselves!
Could you guys add a section to the description that lists known mods that use this framework? So regular users don't have to search and pray to find something that makes use of it?
Check out the 'Requirements' tab! Modders have done a good job linking their mods with this one as a requirement, and the list keeps getting bigger!
There are some stray mods on Curseforge as well! I bumped a comment thread that has more links. I'll try to assort all the links onto the main description at some point!
Not too sure if this is the appropriate place to ask but is there any info on any upcoming mods adding more to OK Overhaul? I love using the shiny pack from Zinkenite but really dig what Txoba (and the future shiny effects he listed by MathSchiavi ) have on their end(s) so far. If there are anymore upcoming projects, I'd love to know! This really adds a great element to an already great game!
A friend of mine, KohasMods, is releasing a Celestial Variants mod on Curseforge!
Finally, a Palworld Evolution mod called Rank Up Evolution, directed by Tetsune (Made the Cattiva Evolution Screenshots) is being made!
I'm making an easy-to-follow tutorial that people on here can watch as well! I hope to really show just how easy it is to make variants with OK! I hope you can stay tuned for that :D
I also found Jolthog SkinPack (which I don't know if it requires OK or just used OK as a base? They don't specify.) I only recently installed it and haven't found a jolthog yet on my personal game to test it yet. I'm usually on a dedicated server that I host and have been playing solo occasionally to enjoy OK and the joy it brings my daughter from just a few color variant mods we've found. *edit 02-24* Found two more recently and just thought to add them here in case someone stumbles across this and is trying to find stuff. Eikthydeer Assorted Pack and Cremis Assorted Pack *end edit*
For just Lucky pals I found Zinkenite's Shiny Pals. *edit 02-24* I also found Shiny Lucky Pals which I will likely use instead as it looks to have some really cool features they're adding but at the time of this edit the newest version is broken and they're working on fixing it.*end edit*
So excited to see where this all goes. It's just so much more interesting with variants of pals and I appreciate the work everyone is doing to make variants. I'm tempted to see if I get some time to try my hand at some. I only recently managed to track down the invite like to the Palworld Modding Discord so that I could look into what it would take as well as check out some other cool projects on there.
Omg the Celestial Variants I immediately downloaded. I love the creativity behind this! Hopefully more come, especially that Rank Up Evolution mod or others similar to it. Thank you for this framework! I know the game's still in Early Access but I have a feeling your OK Overhaul will be a prominent mod in the long run.
I will eagerly wait patiently for that tutorial! Thank you so much. For somebody that has had little to no experience modding UE games or Palworld but have so many ideas they'd like to implement, I would much appreciate a new tutorial. Keep up the hard work!
If you are using older builds of OK (before OK V2) that is correct!
If you have OK V2 and higher, that is no longer the case, and it may cause issues for some mods because of how the 'LogicMods' folder is deployed. Keeping both files ( "0OneOfAKindV2-ModelStuff_P.pak" and "ZOneOfAKindV2-Main_P.pak" )files in the "Paks" or "~mods" folder should work as intended!
Weird how it was only working like that for me before. I did put them in the ~mods folder along with the other few ones that I use this mod for variants and so far seems to be working. Thanks
I thought the Mod is an already made new variants, but actually is the source to make then have variants, so, doesnt ADD none of any varients to Pals, you need download by yourself the Varients Textures right? thats sad because i wanted see all of then :((... The Source is amazing, a really great work ♥, but seens dont have any more textures to download that :(, only your Work to Lamballs and the Shiny One, no more. I hope we can have more Variants to all pals soon, and more ppls work with it... its a great thing to Palword, who actually is SO MUCH RAW, they was afraid to being fired by Nintendo, but, its THEIR work, Who cares about nintendo thinks... come on... Just go Pocketpair.
I can't wait until people make OK replacers for humans.
I am currently using the Melusine mod for more color with them... but I would love for people to do outfit/hair color/gender variations for the human models themselves.
i'm not sure why but for me he keeps crashing the game as soon as i get in one world even in single player and without mods, i already played with this mod before the bellenoir update and it was always working i didn't put any new mod and i just updated the old ones but still as soon as i get in a world it crashes
Very strange. Check and see if your graphics card drivers need updates, or if your files (especially UE4SS) need to be updated.
Downloading mods for Palworld aren't like other games like Skyrim: Besides installing UE4SS, There's no lingering files like scripts or w/e that would bork your game in any way. If the mod is installed and the game crashes, that's definitely an issue with a mod. If you uninstall the mod, your game will completely return to its vanilla state -- which if its STILL crashing, thats a completely different issue regarding the game install or your computer's software.

hopefully somebody can do a tutorial for other modders to create color and mesh variations

Because it doesn't seem to be working properly after the change.
Lamball_normal_2
Lamball_coward_1
Lamball_strong_1,

\Game Pass Games\Palworld\Content\Pal\Content\Paks\LogicMods
Then the mods that use this framework go in:
\Game Pass Games\Palworld\Content\Pal\Content\Paks\~mods
