Great mod. I was looking for exactly this functionality. The base game should just work this way, or it should at least start playing the harvest animation right when you start the hold-interact.
it breaks the trees there were 5 trees I could gather from but when I use the tree option after gathering from one tree all the other trees that I had their prompt removed.
I can confirm that version 1.4 does not work currently since you can't get Shared Mod Config HOWEVER, I just tried v1.33 of this mod instead and it works perfectly fine! Just make sure to download both the .dll and the text file and put them both in the BepInEx Plug-ins folder
This mod is now outdated since the shared mod config is scrapped by the dev. They recommended to use BepInEx config which does the same thing as what they had. If you can update the mod to use that then I'd love to give this mod a try.

Also, to help anyone confused by the sentences on the description page that talk about gathering wood... * The text document file in the current version of this mod (v1.2) INCLUDES BY DEFAULT gathering wood from trees as a quick button push just like all of the other items that this mod covers. (NO holding the interact button) * IF for some reason you want gathering wood to go back to the vanilla method of holding the interact button but want to loot other resources the modded way (NO holding the button) THEN you can go into the text document included in the download and change it.
When reading the text document all of the lines that start with a # are notes from the author explaining how the document works. The one you would want to change is the very last line (no #) and make sure there are NO spaces: bGatherTreesUseHoldButton=False
False means NO button holding (MODDED DEFAULT) True means you WILL HOLD the button to gather wood (VANILLA METHOD)
I don't see the text file when downloading it from here. There is only the DLL file that I can see, and it breaks the game as I don't instantly take any items, and can't even use F to gather anything. I put the file in the plugin folder of BepinEx

Awesome mod!
Without the mod you also get the message that you require a waterskin to fill water.
HOWEVER, I just tried v1.33 of this mod instead and it works perfectly fine! Just make sure to download both the .dll and the text file and put them both in the BepInEx Plug-ins folder

Make sure that the InstantTakeItems.dll file is located in the directory: <Outward Game Directory>\BepInEx\plugins
Then it should work.
