Note: Sorry for the rapid-fire updates. I am making sure to thoroughly test each version so that there is definitive improvement with each release. Please let me know if this is not the case! Hopefully the visuals are improved in every way in every part of the game with each update!
Update: When I released v5.01.0007, I thought it was virtually free of over/under processing. So, I published it, but finding need for improvement and not wanting a unfinished product released (for some reason I get creative block until I publish sometimes), I kept making fixes, seeing it good, releasing versions, and then finding more problems to address. So, rapid-fire updates :-( .
v6.00.0000 seems to be well-tuned enough to not have any glaring problems and beautiful to look at I hope too (edit: with further testing, artifacts (grain, banding, etc.) is minimal to most times non-existent, definitely way way way outweighed by the eye candy ), so time for a break from releases :-) .
The reshade setup, when selecting OPPW4, it says i dont have permission to open this file :( I try changing ownership or whatever to "Everyone". it says im not allowed or whatever. do you know how to fix this?
Awesome! I'm glad you found a solution and that the mod is looking great for you, and thanks for the feedback :D !
The graininess I've noticed with OPPW4 and the other two games I'm working with, unfortunately :/. This is definitely an area for future development of the mod if I can find a solution :). My hypothesis is that this graininess is inherent in the information ReShade gets from the game, the mod just over-amplifies what would normally not be visible. I hope to find a way to fix it without compromising the visuals of the mod :) .
After a lot of testing, I hope to have eliminated most of the grain (there is still some shimmering in the grass, but reduced I think) while improving upon the visuals of the last version :D ! Fingers crossed :) !
i have a problem. It says start failed 8000-0003 Data not downloaded correctly or system requirements not met. Please download the game again or check the specifications. Then it says; Found a problem with the graphics card. Please check the specifications or correct installation of the graphics card drivers But my graphics card has the latest driver and is actually very good. Do you know how to fix it?
From what I was able to find, this sounds like a Steam game issue. Was the game working before installing ReShade, or is this a fresh install of the game? Some games are like this for my system, where they won't even launch (e.g. Forza Horizon 5).
has some discussion of the error code for this game. This seems to be a potential fix: "Kinda old thread. But i just had this Issue. If you have a VPN disable it, uninstall the game, restart computer and reinstall the game. that fixed it for me."
My system specs: Core i9 9980XE (relatively old processor, no compatibility issues with this game) RTX 4090 (new graphics card, no new compatability issues with upgrading from older GPU) 128GB DDR4 RAM (4/8 sticks, having all ram slots filled vs half at double capacity can cause issues with some programs (e.g. Topaz Photo AI crashed for me), personal experience, but this may be more in line with high system load triggering crashes)
Edit: I just had an idea. If the solutions above aren't working/applicable, then potentially it could be the graphics drivers needing a clean slate. Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) can completely remove traces of old drivers in case they are causing errors. This tool can cause problems (what kind im not sure) if used improperly, so be sure to check the instructions on the page :) .
