Yes and no. You could make an overworld sprite sheet using job outfits, but overworld sprites use a lot of context-specific animations that job animations don't have. Think stuff like Hikari hanging his head while fighting the shadow in cutscenes, or Agnea tripping. You would either need to make entirely new sprite art to fill in the gaps (for every job combination doing every cutscene animation) or leave those default and see the characters flicker into their default outfits whenever one played. It's either a LOT of extra work, or accept some jank.
