This mod implements a basic hard mode for Octopath Traveler, with a limit on consumable items.

This mod builds off of Octopath Traveler Hard Difficulty Option at Octopath Traveler Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com). It increases all enemy hp by 1.25x, all other stats by 1.15x, and shields by 1.5x. It leaves all weaknesses intact, and limits consumable items (healing grapes, etc) to 10 per type. All other skills, ai, item drops, xp, jp, etc, is the same as vanilla (for now). The code used to generate the enemy files for this mod is up at kirbyanator/octopath_hard_mode: Code to generate files for my octopath hard mode mod (github.com). This mod is fully compatible with vanilla save files, just remove the mod and you can play as much as you like in "normal mode", and add back the mod whenever you want.

Let me know if anything is too hard or too easy! I can easily finetune encounters to be harder or easier and update the mod. I can also edit player abilities if a super overpowered strategy exists. I'm currently playtesting the mod myself, just finished chapter 1 for each character. Feels great so far.
