It is the SupportCharacterDB file, however I don't remember exactly how to do it. I had a few mods I made and some I made with modding tools and some I made by using a hex editor.
Larger Monster Roster works fine but this one definitely doesn't want to.
It makes me sad since I consider that H'aanit's a really boring character to play with... The constant need to hunt monsters is just too repetitive to be fun imo.
Please, do you have any ideas on how to make it work ? I only have these two mods installed, if that can provide some information... And I am playing in french.
I have no clue. If you got my other mod to work, then this one should work as well. I can only recommended that you redownload this mod (in case the download got corrupted) and try again, making sure you did the same steps to install it as the other mod that is working.
The language of the game shouldn't matter as the mod only changes some numbers.
Thanks for this excellent mod, I have a question, is this mod compatible with Octopath Fantasy I? I have them both but I don't know if they conflict between them I'm just playing and enjoying my game xD
The recruited NPCs staying the entire battle after being summoned should work because that file doesn't conflict with the other mod.
However, the 99 summons part of the mod does conflict. It shouldn't matter for monster captures since the other mod also does this, but I don't think the other mod increases NPC summons to 99. Some parts of the other mod may not work though but I'm not sure what since I'm not very familiar with everything it changes.
By default the mods are loaded in alphabetical order so this mod will have priority. It may be safer to give the other mod priority by renaming this mod and adding a couple of z's to the beginning like this: "zz_better_summons_p.pak". Then you won't get the 99 NPC summons but everything else should work.
Or just leave it alone. If everything has been working fine as far as you can tell then maybe you could just stick with that.
For anyone else that sees this mod, try combining it with Larger Monster Roster which increases your roster size from 6 to 10. They supposedly modify different files, so I'm hoping they're compatible. The roster mod definitely works with my Steam copy; I've been using it for a while. I'm installing this one (better summons) now. The game is starting to get a bit tedious for me, so I'm beginning to cheat a little so I can hopefully finish it before I lost interest. I'm about to start the chapter 4 stories.

But then I tried to release all my current roster, went on a hunt to capture a new monster and IT WORKED !
I don't really understand why but I guess it was an update priority issue ?
Anyway, this works perfectly now and I love it ! Thank you for your work and for your time. :)
Anyway, glad it's now working for you.
