I've just realised the version I uploaded was based on my own altered in-game controls (I changed the sneak key to LS, LB to sprint and the HUD menu to B).
LB was chosen because nothing happens if you hold it while standing still for me, because that is the sprint key for me. I'll add another version based on the vanilla controls for those who don't know how to alter the steam controls themselves.
Hey I'm the person who made this steam layout and I just wanna say that this version doesn't have any of the touchpad support (edit: just want to add that I meant true touchpad support vs just using it for start/select) (not that you need that) I'm just saying that if you want that sort of thing, a newer layout is available on the steam controller layouts.
Also with this older version, there's a thing that messes up with the Dpad where if you mode shift (hold r1) and try to use the dpad, for whatever reason the game won't really accept it as input for the dpad. I've been playing around with the layout ever since the game came out trying to make it better with playing, and this early version was good enough at the time, but I've made improvements to it over playing, and want to share.
Also also, the reason I'm 99% sure this is based on the layout I made is because it's named the same thing (even with the trackpad support in the name) no shade at the person who made changes to it and posted it here, I just wanted to provide an updated version for you
Heres the newest version with touchpad support and with an attempt at fixing the dpad thing steam://controllerconfig/2623190/3470373159
Also also in response to some of the things I see here:
The controls are based on the classic layout of the game (B opened the menu, LB moved objects, but since that's been combined with interact, I moved sprint there, and sneak was on L3)
@IcemanSR Steam input doesnt accept the PS button as an input so I couldnt map anything on that, but I did get the touchpad to do quicksave/load/auto run based on which direction you swipe it
@IcemanSR ps4 controller isnt great with doing the corner directions with steam input, it only ever took up/right instead of upright as an input, which is why I made it only 4 hotkeys with a swap
@IcemanSR I don't have a ps5 controller so I dont know if the voice button can be mapped
@FleetadmiralElmo The steam layout includes dpad as sub buttons so that you can still use the layout, but in the older version this doesnt work as well, use the newer version if you want it to work fine (binding things in menu can be rough though because if it moves up or down it wall bind the thing you just went up or down to to your up/down button) the only thing I can suggest for this is to only use dpad when you're not in a menu where you can hotkey something (it's a bad solution, sorry)
@malt0 theres a mod to make dodge a one button hotkey, use that then set your button on your controller to press that key on your keyboard, that should work
What are you on about you pudding. It's just a steam layout that I made on my own Steam that I shared with others in case they also wanted the changes I made lmao.
It's not named the same as yours and I definitely didn't alter or name anything to do with a trackpad. Maybe your locally saved name is taking over? No idea, I don't really know much about Steam layouts. This is the first game I made one for.
I posted mine before yours, so I obviously didn't use yours. However it seems several better implementations have come out since I posted mine, and I'm happy to recommend yours in my description if you'd like.
JFC mine is called "Oblivion Remaster Dpad Shortcuts", according to my Steam settings.
It wasn't weird for me to assume that it was copied from mine if it has the same name for everything including the mode shifts in the exact same way, with the same decisions I made that arent related to the original layout (including adding trackpad support, which yours has too just at a more basic level?).
But in the case that we did have parallel thinking, I'm sorry for accusing you of copying mine.
Also relating to the fact that you posted yours before mine; you posted it on nexus then I posted it on nexus after I saw yours because I hadnt even considered it at the time. I made mine the day the game came out and kept altering it while I was playing to make it better over the next few days, I initially kept it on steam because I didnt even think posting steam layouts on nexus was ok since you'd need a download, but with you having this up, I figured it would at least be helpful to show people a more advanced version of what is essentially the same layout.
Overall, it doesn't really matter to me, I made my layout for steam because I just wanted other people to get a boost from my effort, it's the same here. If you used mine as a base and built off of it, that would've been awesome, but from what I could tell you just posted an old version of my layout and I wanted to at least make sure some other people would see a more advanced version exists. Again it's no shade toward you, it's just how things look.
I don't even know what you mean by trackpad support?
The only change I made was making LB a mode shift button with the Dpad buttons to go along with them. It's not crazy for two people to have the same idea because what other modifier button would you use? Pretty much any other button would do something as soon as they are pressed making them unsuitable.
I uploaded an image of what I get when I use the link to the steam layout of this mod. As you can see, it is called "OBLIVION REMASTER DPAD SHORTCUTS" and not whatever yours is called.
Honestly this is just confusion on your end. And yes I'm defensive because you didn't even ask if I'd taken yours first. You straight up accused me of ripping yours off with "hey I'm the person who made this steam layout", which annoys me because if you look at my other mods, I leave credit to everyone's work and ask them for permission before using any of their assets.
You dont really need steam for this. If u dont have steam game. Any remap software can do that.
And actually you can go way further than this. If u can remember all spell position.
D-Pad is only 4 spell. So remap L1+Dpad to another 4. And if u desperately need L1. Bind it to one of free keys like L3
If you have dualsense or dualshock its even better. Use ds4windows/rewasd(or other app of ur choice/rewasd cant bind swipes, only touches, ds4win can) and assign touchpad swipe (and clicks) to all of the above and then some.
Dont forget to remap (PS) button to quick save, yes? and even microphone button to a map key! :-)
Any combination of buttons is possible. I only went with LB+Dpad because LB doesn't do anything when stood still so it was a good button to use to open menus.
Oh, no I understand now. I can't do that because it is Oblivion itself that decides two buttons = dodge.
Changing what buttons are mapped in Steam doesn't change that. I've been trying to play with it to make it so you can dodge with a sungle button press, but when you program it to press LT and Y on one button, nothing happens because the game wants you to hold LT and press Y to dodge rather than pressing both at the exact same time.
you can unlock dodge with one of the skill perks. On controller it is LT+Y. So you need to block + jump to dodge. Is it possible to put dodge on a single input?

I am using touchpad to activate quick keys from keyboard. 1,2,3-8

i'll track this mod waiting for a GamePass version for Dualsense.
