I'm trying to use this mod on my Steam Deck. The "/" key opens and closes the console and I can't seem to be able to change that. So, when I go to type the command, the console just closes when I get to the first "/". Is there another way to go about this?
After installing everything launch the game and load a save file. Once loaded open the console with the tilde button ("~"), copy paste this command in it and then press enter and then reload your save file:
You need to do this only once. After that the mod will be automatically loaded on game launch. You can copy-paste commands into the console with the keyboard shortcuts "Control + C" and "Control + V".
Steam deck should have copy/paste shortcuts. Or maybe you can make a macro or something.
Hello. How to remove this mod correctly? I removed "Floating damage numbers" and "Simple BP Mod Loader" files, but now the game does not start, crashing with an error.
might have been one of the greatest mods ever. too much confusing about how to install and make it work tho. could use a video (tutorial). I know Im not alone here
Dude you just showed me a video of another kind of mod I was looking for and never found it. Searched for "light" and similar words and now Im really hyped with both of them. Thanks a lot! Keep being awesome
1. This mod is really fun and adds a fun new layer to the combat that I'm enjoying, so thank you. 2. Is there a way that we can customize the font size a little bit? I personally would like to reduce the size a tad 3. Also, is there a way to round the damage values to the nearest whole number? So instead of "18.03" it shows "18"
I don't think there's a way to customize the existing rounding functions Unreal provides further (the mod does this already, the actual values are something like 18.259234), so using those would just make some of the reported numbers inaccurate. I also don't think it's that much of an issue to spend time implementing custom logic for it and it is the actual damage the game reports so why mess with it even further.
For me it's mostly a thing because I come from games like Destiny that round to the nearest whole number for every value and so seeing 18.08 on every strike with a great sword just feels a tad weird. Hence why I was curious if that was something easily implementable.
this mod is an idea i dreamed about for years and youve executed it with precision. but theres one thing id like you to add. colors. the colors of the numbers to match the type of damage youre receiving or delivering. (poison, burn, etc) if you can implement that along with a compat. patch for simple critical hit. (maybe even a color for critical hits) this mod would be a smash hit and id be eternally grateful. thank you.
What? Workaround? Simple BP mod loader is a Blueprint mod loader, just like UE4SS's blueprint loader. And you can use the mod with UE4SS as well, it's in the description. I just prefer running my mods with other loaders when possible because UE4SS is known to cause crashes and stability issues.
i'm not entirely sure about how to use blueprint mods in ue4ss tbh, so i think iget their confusion. i tried putting it in logicmods but then there was no damage numbers or enemy name (not even sure that's related tbh.) then i got the simple bp loader and realized "bp" was blueprint and i already had the "Blueprint mod loader" with the gui and stuff, so i just opened that one in-game and typed "FloatingDamageNumbers" and it loaded it up and its been working great
Works fine for me with UE4SS. What version of UE4SS are you using? That name bug you mentioned shouldn't be unrelated, the mod doesn't mess with enemy names.
Yea that's another blueprint mod loader. Good to know that it works, haven't tried it.
@STarlightSophi How did you get to the GUI in UE4SS's BPModLoader? I'm also not seeing damage numbers and all my UE4SS mods are working except this one.
i am using version 3.0.1.a of ue4ss. i have like a ton of stuff installed so idk probably one of those things is conflicting but thankfully the BP mod loader worked. @lilebolio if you cant get the ue4ss version working look for the blueprint mod loader here on nexus, when you get it installed press j and type FloatingDamageNumbers and it works exactly as described. sometimes two sets of numbers do pop up and thats probably because of the weirdness but 99% of the time it works exactly as you would expect. i love it

Edit: Could try an external keyboard as well.

Here's a video someone made for my waist lantern mod, it's the same procedure:

Is the reason summon's damage doesn't show the same as with Magic Touch?

Starlight is talking about a different Blueprint mod loader that comes with an in-game gui.
Edit: Disregard, figured it out. Works fine with ue4ss
