Seems like people having the most stuttering are the ones below 16GB gpus.(6800XT) I'm running 5120x1440p High/Ultra settings with frame gen. I get some stuttering when loading screens are finished for a second or two but I average around 45 FPS which is playable for this game. Only outside in the game world I average around 45 FPS but everywhere else is above 60 FPS or greater. This game probably needs a 12 GB gpu to run on high 1440p. Or 16 GB for 4k.
I can't see a difference with FSR and frame gen in this game at 32:9. Most games look like crap with FSR I have played like the witcher 3 but this game looks fine with FSR and frame gen. First time I have ever really used it in a game and usually don't use any of that peasantry.
45fps is playable and thinking it's not is clearly the joke here. Though I have a 5080 & 7800X3D, I'm used to 90+FPS but I can easily enjoy Bloodborne and other games that are locked to 30fps. Stop being a tool.
you folks have been screaming this since before 45 fps was available on games. Weve had to deal with you folks for over 20 years. And Yet you still shriek your opinion at any chance you have
8GB VRAM (RX 6650 XT) here and noticing the trend also. The stuttering really kicks in when VRAM usage goes >95% which I'm guessing is when the OS will start using regular RAM as an emergency backup
The thing that irks me is that I get pretty much the same smooth performance on 900p lowest settings or 1440p High settings (about 60fps outdoors, 100fps in towns, 300+fps indoors) - but as soon as VRAM hits 95% it all goes to s#*! and NEVER recovers even when I return to indoor locations
There's no good reason why this game should use more than 7GB VRAM in 900p on lowest graphics and it definitely should not continue to stutter after returning to an indoor location. It seems like it just refuses to free up any of that VRAM
While I enjoy playing at 4K/120FPS these days, let me tell you about the old days in 2001. I was playing Morrowind on a 32Mb graphics card, and I could muster around 25FPS in Morrowind with occasional dips to 17FPS in cities, running at 1024x768. That game was amazing.
45fps WITH Frame Generation is absolute crap, mate. Lower the res and stop smoking copium, your GPU is old and doesn't have the power to run that resolution for this game.
I can't see a difference with FSR and frame gen in this game
this game looks fine with FSR and frame gen
around 45 FPS which is playable for this game
Absolute nonsense.
Look at this spanner trying to lie on the internet in 2025.
It takes only a few minutes to check reviews showcasing FSR and frame gen in this game, and how bad the game runs at 45fps native, never mind 45fps with frame gen and FSR enabled.
The only person you are trying to kid here is yourself.
45 FPS with Frame Gen is actually detrimental, because it is meant to produce frames in EXCESS of 60. The whole point of Frame Gen is to take your native FPS and double it with AI generated frames, and those higher framerates can potentially mask some of the hiccups with AI. 45 FPS with Frame Gen would look so stuttery and broken that you might as well just turn Frame Gen off.
I run a 4070ti with a mere 12GB of RAM. At 1440p, the game defaults to Ultra everything with DLSS at Quality + Frame Gen. Overall, I easily surpass 120+ FPS (which I feel is the de facto minimum for Frame Gen), but there's an issue where despite maintaining 120+, I get visual stutters when there are major changes to the environment (such as moving to new areas, or weather changes), which gets instantly fixed by simply opening and closing graphics settings without changing anything. It's as if the frame timing is going out of whack, and opening menus resets it, which tells me that it's a problem with the game engine, not our hardware.
45 FPS with framegen enabled is hardly playable, setauro. Absolutely nobody should be apologizing for Bethesda, Virtuous or Epic Games when it comes to UE5, UE5 optimization and developers falling back on upscaling tech as a crutch for poor optimization. Digital Foundry can defend this crap till the cows come home, but they're just caping so they can keep getting their free game keys.
45 fps is playable for single player games, but if you're playing any game that is pvp or online multiplayer that's where it becomes a problem. These kids in the comments complaining like delinquents that 45fps is not playable for this game needs to sit down and eat their vegetables. Consoles in the early days ran at 25-30 fps, so was NONE of the games played on there playable? STFU Current Gen 45fps is still playable, (assuming lags and stutters are not present) anything below 30fps (with or without stutters/lag)is not.
Friendly reminder to any and all AMD card users who have a 9070xt: Use optiscaler for FSR4. You can even do this in games with ZERO fsr support: Optiscaler will spoof DLSS input to run FSR4.
framegen is only useful above 60fps without it, so if you get 45 with framegen, just turn it off and try other options also i remember playing Skyrim at 30 fps when i didn't have a powerful GPU (i couldn't not have ENB), and it makes the experience more cinematic than at higher framerate as long as it's not an online competitive game, 30 fps is just fine and g@ym3rz should stop being so dumb and actually ENJOY the game and not just how it performs lol
Why are people arguing below about how a mod works for some or not. This is Virtuous/Bethesda's fault for shipping the game in this state. Look at Kingdom Come Deliverance II, Atomfall, fck even RTX50 series gets stutters, so many better looking game that runs better than this game and Bethesda says f*#@ it.
What should I write to stop the water from flickering when I move the camera down? The weapon also flickers when it reflects in the water. How can I fix this? (I wrote it using Google Translate)
