First, thank you for the preset. Looks very nice :)
I've set it up right and all is working well. That said, I have a dumb question (sorry): is the armor supposed to come with the preset? Or is that a mod that you installed on your side? It looks like the Dark Seducer one but not quite.
Hey y'all, the armor is just the dark seducer with junes re color to make it black and this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/3592 The linked mod you would select the option with half off bra and no underwear if you want it same as mine. I'm a dog, what can I say lol
You should be able to just speak to her and select the option to manage equipment I believe. If that part isn't working then the author who made the actual follower mod might be more helpful but I'll do my best!
Thank you! I actually made one for a custom follower that is a wood elf but I based the customer follower off Junah and I basically just changed the race and name. The rest is all from the original mod creator so I don't want to rip them off. My life is really hectic right now but maybe when I get some free time I will make my own follower from scratch.
Awesome. No pressure at all but yeah I just love how feminine this preset is while at the same time not being bimbo-y or with the traditional instagram model face.
By the way, how do you change a follower's race? I tried changing the following entry in BP_MGMageApprentice_C.json from Breton to Nord to try to use the custom female nord skin mod but it didn't seem to have any effect.
The json basically just affects the head. You actually have to change the referenced NPC in the sync.ini file. Essentially the sync.ini is telling the game which unreal asset to pull from and the json is the instruction for what that NPC should look like. The mod author of Junah made a customer follower instruction mod. I used that to edit Junahs race in the construction kit and then change the name, starting belongings, etc. I wanted to make a wood elf follower. So I first had to find a random NPC in the game that is already a female wood elf, then tell the sync.ini to pull that asset. Then I tweaked the json to say that the asset it pulled should look like what the json describes.
Yeah, I've had about 4 hours of trying to get this to work yesterday, but it still doesn't. I have no idea what the problem could be. even used the conversation you and CopticCurrent had to try to figure out what the problem could be. Fixed a couple of issues that could have been the cause, but still didn't work.
Sorry that was a typo. I meant install. When you're installing the underlying requirements, it has you install race menu utilities. When you do, you have to install the main mod but also an option file called rmuutilities
I’m experiencing the same issue in my environment. I’ve placed the files in: D:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\NPCAppearanceManager\NPC but nothing is being applied at all. Is there any way to make it work?
You can use it for the player. You would use RMU, save the json under the "preset" folder, then load your game. In the console type rmu load (name of the json without the json part). Then you can type showracemenu to customize. Just remember the showracemenu command clears out your skills without using mods to prevent it. If you get crashing it's most likely due to the race of your character being different than the race of the face preset.
You need Colovian Cuts from the mod description for the same hair. As far as the skin goes, my only guess is something happened when installing one of the mods you mentioned. I looked through my game files and download history and that's all I have for skin. I do have some other mods that make NPCs look younger but that's a replacer for those NPCs like this mod so they would totally overwrite this preset if installed after.
Glad you got it working! Hey are you running any mods for your hair? Not the style but the texture. All the hair in my game looks like it has black lines running horizontally through it but yours looks great!
I have a different (or really opposite) problem. Annas body/face/hair are all correct but shes wearing boots, jeans and a t-shirt like the main Anna mod (actually not half-bad, but doesn't go well w/my main char). Tried running the game without ~mods and that got the hair working, but not the outfit.
Is this due to the "clothes bug" mentioned in the Dark Seducer NBO mod? I tried setting Cloth Quality to medium but it didn't change, not sure whats up.
The armor is separate from this preset. You can download the Demoria Armor mod and give it to her to equip through dialogue options if you want the one in my most recent image
I had some trouble installing this but I got it working, so I will explain for anyone who has a similar issue.
When I download the mod manually, the .zip was empty. It still is, I just checked. Thought that was odd.
When I install using Vortex, the .json is not placed in the correct folder. Actually, I don't even know where it goes.
What I do is, I install using Vortex then I open my staging folder [Open In File Manager] and then manually move the .json from there to the NPC folder. Assuming you have the NPCAppearanceManager and all related utilities correctly installed, this would do it.
EDIT - Found it. Installing via Vortex will place it directly into the root folder. (Steam>steamapps>common>Oblivion Remastered). You can move the .json from here to the NPC folder manually.
I thought of this yesterday but forgot to update the mod details because I got busy. This is manual install only. The download just contains the json so Vortex will have no idea what to do with it. I may or may not make it Vortex compatible, but I will clarify on the main page either way. Sorry about that!
For some reason despite following the install path to a T, she still looks the same as her default appearance. Any way to force the .json to take effect?
Not specifically that character, but a few like Allure of the Magi and Deadly Visage. nothing else really.
Update: disabling doesn't work either. I'm wondering if the character id in console has something to do with it, as selecting her in console shows her as "BP_MGMageApprentice_C_2147478968"
When I open my console she shows the same way except the last 4 numbers at the end are 8082. When you go through the NPC folder you don't have any other ids for mage apprentice_c_? The only time I had that issue in my testing was when I had another ref ID overwriting this preset somewhere. Honestly, there isn't much that could really be preventing it. Anna.ini tells the game which mesh to pull for that character so as long as that matches the right json and nothing else overwrites there shouldn't be much else going on
No other NPC in the folder with the same name. might just clear out my replacements and see what happens. It'd be a shame to miss out on one of the few ones on the site that look this nice.
Maybe it's hail mary time. You could try copying your existing NPC folder under NPC manager to your desktop. Then delete the one in the game folder and redownload and install Anna and the preset. If that doesn't work then I'm lost. Are you using Steam or Gamepass btw? Not sure if it matters but maybe
Unfortunately, I am also having this issue and have similarly followed all of the instructions for this mod's prerequisites with zero luck. Can't find the cause.
Same issues as CopticCurrent where the config ini line says 'load' like it's supposed to, all the files appear to be in their correct locations and having her just look the same no matter what I'm doing lol
Did y'all install manually or through Vortex? Also, Steam or Gamepass? Also, make sure you downloaded the rmuutilities misc file under the race utilities mod
I figured out what my issue was, but it ended up being a bit different. but to answer your question, I'm on Steam.
So what happened was, when I was installing rmuUtilities and making sure it was inside of 'shared' folder like it's supposed to, for whatever reason it decided not to copy the config.lua, dkjson.lua or the rmuUtilities.lua, all three of which are obviously pretty important. I at first didn't catch this, because I didn't expect simply dragging and dropping a folder to somehow fail so spectacularly like that. Then, when I caught it and went back and fixed it (I don't know how), this time the damned thing decided to entirely nuke the other contents of the shared folder, meaning that it deleted UEHelpers folder which wreaked absolute havoc on my mods lmao
Then, I caught THAT and fixed THAT as well, I got frustrated and instead of dragging and dropping the 'shared' folder, I instead decided to go into the empty rmuUtilities folder left over from attempt 1, to go into 'shared' in the .zip, then manually moved the lua files into it and then everything worked without breaking anything.
Unfortunately, I don't know what caused any of the aformentioned malfunctions when attempting to simply drag and drop files.
Edit:
Want to add, I appreciate you and your attempts to help people, and your preset looks awesome! Thank you.
I'm glad you got it working! This must be a "thing" because I was researching other preset mods comment sections and they all had a couple people that experienced the preset not showing up for some reason. It makes sense though if something went wrong with the rmu install since NPC manager relies on it to pull the presets into the game.
This is, ironically, the same issue. After sleeping on it and coming back to my PC in the morning, I did a systemic reinstall, watching over and double checking each file transfer. Imagine the look of shock, frustration, and facedesking that came over me as I saw that lo, an empty folder was my reward for doing what I was simply assuming that the files were moved as "typical".
Turns out simply treating this remaster like Oldblivion in terms of modding has left me with a rather humbling experience. More fool me.
Anyways, Anna looks amazing. Props to monkeymaddness11 for their account. And Supplanter66 for their putting up with me in this goose chase. :-)
Got the companion mod up and running, but I'm having CTD issues going into and out of buildings with this Preset, and occasionally when pulling up the map. The issue with going into and out of buildings is happening a lot, and I get this message:
Do you have those same crashes without the preset installed and just the follower mod? Also, make sure the Anna.esp is above AltarDeluxe.esp on your plugin.txt. Some people had some crashing like that with the underlying follower mod and moving the .esp seemed to fix it.
No, with just the follower mod, I can enter and exit and also pull up the map just fine.
Anna.esp is indeed above AltarDeluxe.esp.....I got CTD trying to enter the inn to get her until I did that.
Also, I do have RaceMenuUtilities folder installed in the /Mods folder, and rmuUtilities folder in the /Mods/shared folder.
I also have NBO installed and it is showing just fine even with just the follower mod. Adding the json for her face is the killer, for some reason.
Update: I'm thinking this may be an issue with NBO working with RMU and NPC Appearance manager. NBO recently did a big update, and those other two are not yet up to date with their instructions for making NBO support work...
Aaaaannnd....got it working, at least so far! I edited three .lua files in those other three mods, and created a couple of /NBOPresets folders in the right place. Seems to have worked.

"Race":"TESRace /Game/Forms/actors/race/Nord.Nord"
Nice it worked, thanks alot! I didn't uninstall rmuutilities, that was the problem. Your preset looks great!
I’ve placed the files in:
D:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\NPCAppearanceManager\NPC
but nothing is being applied at all.

The rmuUtilities was missing. After downloading and copying it, the changes were reflected.
Do either of your download files allow us to use this face, for the player?
My Anna has a skin texture issue and I use NBO, Silky and Smooth Skin and Smooth Beautiful Faces
She also has different hair than in your posted pics, but I use no hair mods...
Then replaced ~mods folder and loaded. Everything looks fine now, just a neck seam
Annas body/face/hair are all correct but shes wearing boots, jeans and a t-shirt like the main Anna mod (actually not half-bad, but doesn't go well w/my main char). Tried running the game without ~mods and that got the hair working, but not the outfit.

I guess I overlooked the obvious and assumed the preset would have added this armor, but should have looked at the .json file first.
Anyway, thanks again. Endorsed!
