I tried this mod 2 times : had to totally uninstall and re-install the game each time after some hours of gameplay. It deletes / corrupt files and the verification tool on steam is not enough to make the game work again. It's a shame because it really improved my performance, but it always ends up destroying the files.
So, the config file with BaseEngine.ini also goes in the Engine folder? I ask because there are several settings that are also included in the Engine.ini that's located in the My Games folder.....
Thank you for this! I've got a relatively higher end PC but mines starting to fall behind [I have a 3080Ti, I7-10700k and 32GB RAM]. So it's still considered quite good, but UE5 definitely makes the old girl sweat a good bit lol. Specifically, the game will randomly just start using like 99% of my 32GB RAM randomly which has almost caused my entire PC to freeze up and crash on a couple separate occasions which is very anxiety inducing. So I'm hoping this will help with that.
black magic. using the 4gb vram patch let me play with decent frames on my laptop but adding this finally made things sooo smooth. it seems to prevent the dreaded vram leaks i was having every half-hour as well. thank you
Thanks for this! Definitely noticeable improvement on smoothness, even if FPS is not as high in places as it was reading before. I was having significant micro-stuttering even though FPS was consistently in the 70s and 80s. (i7/14700KF, 64GB, 4070 Ti/12GB, ultra settings in game, ~40 mods installed) With this mod, I'm getting FPS in the 50s to low 60s, but with no stuttering at all, it's super smooth at last. That is a trade I will make all day every day!
