I like the mod idea quite a bit, but I'm having two issues with it. I downloaded it via Vortex for context. The first issue is he aggros on random things and he can die and isn't essential. I have it installed correctly, so I'm not sure what's breaking it. I don't mind the non-essential part because he does normally respawn so it's not the end of the world. I'm more so sad about him aggroing on all my other companions and watching them kill him because I initiated combat outside of an oblivion gate or something. I think something about him being braver also makes him not friendly with every character. I'm not sure what the fix would be, but that's my experience. Otherwise, I really like the mod!
The mod is broken. Not only is he not essential, judging by my experiences with him in the past hour, but he is also aggro'd on a bunch of things. For example, we went to Frostcraig spire, and he randomly attacked my Stormatronach familiar. Then we got to the strange door, and when the Dunmer was attacking the Guard, the Fan instead attacked the Guard.
I have noticed that as well, however i actually think its hilarious. I assume the reason it happens is because he is set to run from all combat, so making him brave makes it see he instead engages in all combat. He usually doesnt attack unless combat starts, even if i am not the one who initiated it. However, what usually happens is whoever he got into combat with DEMOLISHES him, then he gets up and everything is fine. Very funny, but also clearly not intentional. He even engages with ME if i hit him, but again i just slap him into the ground in a couple hits. I actually use him as a block training exploit, cause he cant kill me, and i can knock him out as soon as things get bad. Is he helpful? No, he is actually detrimental at times, but he is a content generator, so he stays.
Is there any way to get him to carry s#*!? This is moreso how id like him to be, an apprentice who helps you minorly in fights but will carry a ton of shit.
2: Take them to an Empty Chest/Crate/Barrel (preferably safe storage in an owned home)
3: On your keyboard click and drag an item that you have many of (iron arrows or lockpicks) to the empty Chest/Crate/Barrel and hit Enter (nothing will move over, the chest will still be empty)
4: Give your Sack Cloth Sandals a single left click. Now you should see there are as many sack cloth sandals in the chest as whatever item you first dragged and your carry weight is now minus how ever many pounds the sandals would weigh.
(Every once in a while this does not work and needs to be repeated like the Infinite item glitch, but as long as you see a ton of sack cloth sandals in the chest your carry weight should now be minus. It didn't seem to work for me when I had 2 pairs of sack cloth sandals in my inventory, so make sure you only have 1. This can be done with any of the sack cloth items but the sandals weigh 2 so they give you more carry weight)
I like the idea, the Adoring Fan is, to my knowledge, the only in-game permanent follower.
And since i moded the game heavily to have many more enemies to spawn, I tend to like having a buddy by my side. even as annoying as he is. Certain quests are quite hard without it. i mainly want something to get the attention of 2-3 enemies while i kill a few others. especially in Oblivion, where there is sometimes 12 enemies at the same spot.

Otherwise, just drop the file in the same location as the rest of your .esp's.
