Ver. 2 is up. overhauled all voices. now more lore-friendly. removed a couple of "off" sound(s) among the hit set. EDIT: I am working on the next mod. I worked hard to finish the Imperial voices. The new mod will include all humanoids - Imperial, Breton, Nord, Redguard races. I don't know how it will advance but at least that's the plan :) EDIT2: Younger Female Voice - Humans <-- mission accomplished ;-) EDIT3: Younger Female Voice - Beastfolk <-- final mission accomplished
You caught that correctly. I strongly believe that they "accidentally" (or intentionally even idk) put male lines in a female voice set. Some voices are definitely male if you listen closely. They paid a good attention to NPC's voices, differentiating among different races. Excellent. However, they neglected the "Player" character's side. I can legitimately say it is a grave mistake.
Certainly. I am totally with you on the point that there’s no point whatsoever of being gender neutral in games. It’s ridiculous and imprecise when depicting reality and considering relatability. Why do we play RPG games? To be more immersed in a new world. Gender neutralization kills immersion. That’s the main reason I made this mod and Better Race Icons mod as well. I am neither a feminist nor a misogynist, (I think all forms of bigotry are plain stupid), but I do care about the believability in games and harmonious relationship and proper representation among genders. In conclusion, the beautiful ears of Cyrodiil should not sound like a goose in pain. 🤣
But the voice actor and her lines are the exact same from OG Oblivion. I never did like her voice though, it sounds like she's very old, which would be ok if they added a voice customizing slider to increase/decrease their pitch.
hear me out would it be possible to set a line where it made my voice v1 at start til level 10 then make it go to v2 then after level 27 and a long time of in game days it would be cool to go back to original voice from game so then it feels as if the character is actually getting older?? other wise im waiting til level 10 or 13 to get v2 its that perfect mid life grunt
I think I listened to hundreds of files, maybe a thousand. I used fmodel to search through the possible directories that could give me hint on the relationship between the wem and designated reference. And then I had to comb through the json codes to find the relevant paths. I found them one by one. It’s a rather primitive and painful way I guess 😅
thank you so much, now I can finally take fall damages without my lil sis laughing hysterically everytime she heard my young female character bellow like a bull
New version is very bad for archers with 100 acrobatic she starting growl evry 5 sec again when take fall damage from 100 acrobatic jumps. id like way more when she just "wooah" with every jump

Men are not the default (women aren't either), so stop making everything masculine.
Like devs, c'mon, that's not gender neutral, that's misogyny.
Thank you for these voice mods, my female characters now actually sound much more like me and all the other women I know.
Thank you! appreciate the good work
