but even with r.LightMaxDrawDistanceScale=10, it still dissapears from sight like at decent range, not close, but still, you should see it from mountains on ohter side of map, if possible ofc.
Totally agree. No idea how to achieve that unfortunately.
Added images showing the drawing distance. Might differ depending on ini. settings, I'd guess. Absolutely no expert there as well, though. This is the best I can come up with for now.
I'm going to assume it has to be an LoD change. Some sort of fake light added into the distant LoD model that changes in and out depending on distance.
@Vendarr On the longer distance it disappears because you have to add the light also to the general worldspace. I guess the game base-logic is still the same of older Gamebryo engine, beneath UE5 rendering... r.LightMaxDrawDistanceScale won't help. EDIT: I quickly tried to mark the objects as Visible when distant with TES4Eedit but didn't fix it... not sure how the Remastered works with UE5 on top of it for rendering, to show actual changes.
Thank you for investigating and trying! Appreciate the effort! 'Visible when distant' rings a bell... Good thinking. A shame it didn't work. Wish I weren't that clueless about that stuff... :-)
ty for mod, looks nice. what ini settings would help the distance for this? i cant find the location of the setting in the sticky post and your close pictures are where it shows for me, nothing near the further pictures u posted of being able to see it, which i would settle for. thx
edit: i have draw distance option at ultra in settings, and i just tested it and i have to be practically almost within the ring of walls to see the flames, so any tips for ini settings to increase this would be appreciated
found out effects quality has alot to do with the view distance of this, had it set to medium because of hair issues (being transparent somewhat). set to high or ultra view distance is greatly increased. just FYI if anyone has same issue as me. thx
Thank you for the info! I can't recommend any ini settings, since I have zero knowledge about it, unfortunately. Guess there are a lot of things to consider, depending on the individual hardware setup.
Yeah I know, I can even install it manually no issues. My point is that when you download via Vortex, it lets you then check for updates automatically.
That would be cool, but beyond my abilities. Would need some scripting knowledge, I guess. And I must confess - I like to see the fire burning during the day too.
Also, generally turning it off by day might also not be totally immersive. We'd then may need to differentiate by weather. Thinking of dark, foggy or rainy weather here, where a guiding light might be a good thing during the day as well.
