    Note: If you have other INI mods installed, this will overwrite them . I wonder why. I will just add your couple of lines to an existing file .ini. Why will this overwrite other lines of the file????

      It will only overwrite if you just replace the ini file. If you just add these commands, it will work fine

    Hi,

    A little off topic but I have a sound issue. Whenever I fast travel, only the ambient sounds (like birds etc) stop playing. Saving and reloading fixes the issue until I fast travel again.

    Any idea what can cause this or how to fix the issue? Thanks!

    Update : The new patch fixed this audio issue.

    As mentioned by others in the comments, using the pak version of this mod stops achievements from being unlocked. I use an achievement unblocker, and none of my saves have the broken trophy icon next to them indicating disabled achievements. Removing the .pak file from this mod makes achievements work again.

      This is correct. I was going through my mods list to see which one was causing it and it was this mod with the .pak version. I installed the .ini version and that seems to work just fine.

      For folks that still want to enjoy achievements it's best to use the .ini file for now till the uploader hopefully fixes .pak file.

      I spent way too much time trying to find the culprit when I noticed I lost my steam overlay. A "pak" breaking the steam overlay made no sense to me so I never suspected it. I still don't know how it's possible

    This mod made the game playable for me. The obnoxious full volume voices for everyone all around you all talking at the same time was worthy of Sheogorath.

    I was wondering if you could help me diagnose an issue?

    Periodically (like every 15 minutes or so?) in the wilderness I will hearing a popping/crackling noise, almost like wood chopping or something.

    It sounds a bit unnatural, I don't know if it's a wonky ambient sound or something wrong with my audio.

    I haven't done much yet to try to isolate it, but I am running this mod.

    Any help appreciated, thanks!

      Yeh theres a few random fake sounds that annoy me too.

      The wood one, a random roar or beast noise nearby and theres never anything there.

      I narrowed it down a bit, but my attempt to "replace" the ambient sound didn't work, but I did manage to get rid of it. Better solution would be to replace it. See my post on page 9 here to this tutorial for replacing sound files, was hoping someone in there would have an idea

    Hey if anybody is having trouble with the .pak files and it causing SteamOverlay to shut down but already have a dedicated "Engine.ini" file, I found a solution.

    1. Go to "C:\Users\YOUR NAME HERE\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\Windows"

    2. Locate the "Engine.ini" file, right-click and hit properties, then un-mark the "Read-only" attribute. Open with Notepad or Notepad ++.

    3. Download the "Engine.ini" file from this mod page manually.

    4. Use whatever program at your disposal to unzip the file, then open the "Engine.ini" file with Notepad or Notepad ++.

    5. Validate if there are any duplicate settings that are present in both "Engine.ini" files by pressing Ctrl+F and pasting any settings. This ensures no duplicates so the game won't fry out or something

    For example, both in the UET .ini and in this Binaural Audio .ini, this command was present in both so I did not need to paste it again in my main "Engine.ini" file.

    [/Script/AkAudio.AkSettings]
    bEnableMultiCoreRendering=1
    bEnableMultiCoreRendering=1

    6. Copy the unique settings from this mod's .ini file to your personal "Engine.ini" file in your own Documents.

    7. Save and close both .ini files, right click your own "Engine.ini", hit properties, and mark the "Read-only" attribute.

    8. Play the game with Steam Overlay enabled!

    ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

    If you're just using Ultimate Engine Tweaks btw, scroll down to "AUDIO SETTINGS", and just copy and paste this over the original Audio Settings into your "Engine.ini" file. The spacing in the "[/Script/Engine.AudioSettings]" section isn't neccesary, just helps me know which settings come from UET or this mod.

    ;============================================================
    ;================== AUDIO SETTINGS ==========================
    ;============================================================
    [SystemSettings]
    au.EnableBinauralAudioForAllSpatialSounds=1
    au.DisableBinauralSpatialization=0
    bAllowCenterChannel3DPanning=1
    au.AllowAudioSpatialization=1
    bEnableMultiCoreRendering=1
    bEnableBinauralRendering=1
    au.EnableSoundOcclusion=1
    au.SpatializationMethod=2
    bEnableHRTF=1

    [/Script/Engine.AudioSettings]
    PlatformFormat=OGG
    PlatformStreamingFormat=OGG

    au.EnableBinauralAudioForAllSpatialSounds=1
    au.DisableBinauralSpatialization=0
    bAllowCenterChannel3DPanning=1
    au.AllowAudioSpatialization=1
    bEnableBinauralRendering=1
    au.EnableSoundOcclusion=1
    au.SpatializationMethod=2
    bEnableHRTF=1

    I'm not sure this "mod" if you want to call it that does the things it is promising. There doesn't seem to be any reverb or any other effects you would expect with enabling HRTF. Maybe sounds are a little more clear? Hard to tell.

    This mod isn't "ray-traced audio" and it's also not HRTF or binaural, because Oblivion wasn't compiled with that functionality

    Here's a comparison video, I use the console to confirm the mod is installed, showing "LastSetBy: SystemSettingsIni" rather than constructor.
    https://streamable.com/9hzd8n

    One of the few functioning commands the mod sets is already enabled by default, any other HRTF command doesn't exist. Outdoor ambience is also unchanged because they're stereo sound files, there's no directional data for binaural audio to add anything

    Would be happy for others to provide some comparison so I know it's not just me

      because Oblivion wasn't compiled with that functionality
      We all know this. It's right there on the main page: "Please note because the game was not designed with these affects in mind there may be some potential audio bugs."

      Where I can tell the mod is doing work is mostly in dialogue and other sound effects. I can better tell position of the speaker or sound if they aren't on my screen already. It's not some crazy difference, which is expected, because as stated the game was designed with in it mind.

      Yeah I don't get why people obsess over technicalities instead of just playing the game and listening/looking for changes. Many people hear a difference & they like it.

      Your game doesn't need to be compiled with support to enable these features, it just may not work as intended if its not. That's it

      What I mean is, if it's not compiled with this functionality, then the plugins needed for HRTF audio aren't there. The console commands literally don't do anything. Seriously, toggle it on and off yourself, test them out. This is why technicalities are important, if you just enable commands that are either already on by default, or don't work, then there's no difference.

      True HRTF isn't a subtle subjective thing that you either do or don't notice. You're not hearing a crazy difference because it's placebo.

      I would absolutely love to be proved wrong here so I know it's not just my setup, but I'm pretty sure that it isn't. As it is now I'm the only one that's made a comparison video and it's pretty obvious there's no difference

      This is what we call a "placebo" my man, these commands literally do nothing.

      I can't help but be disappointed the author stuck their head in the sand about this. To me, the staging of the 5.1 audio in game already has issues. A mod that genuinely improves things would be appreciated and I worry this mod makes it appear like that niche is filled. After your comparison video, there really is no reason to have doubt.

      The "off" and "on" version is just like when I have 5.1 on in game, so there's no reason to assume this mod does anything for the directionality that the game already doesn't do.

    Good day. Can you add sounds of rain, snowstorm, thunderstorm inside the premises? It would add atmosphere +100 please.
