Unfortunately even with changing the ini files and this mod, I still have missing subtitles for many circumstances like especially scripted dialogue scenes at daedric shrines or when getting the vision from pelinal in the shrine of crusader dlc quest :/
I think that in the remaster they deliberately reduced the distance of the subtitles. Yes, I turned on the display in the ini, but if you stand on the steps, before the construction of blades, when the emperor makes a speech, the subtitles are not displayed. I think that if you add a line to the file that will be responsible for the activation of subtitles according to the given distance, it will be right.
This mod works great and has solved a major problem for me. However, I'm not entirely sure if it's a bug — I think the developers might have intentionally left it this way. When you enter large cities like the Imperial capital, you'll notice that there are so many conversations happening at once that the dialogues start to overlap. This makes it nearly impossible to follow what's being said. I suspect that's why some dialogues may have been disabled. To further improve the mod, it might be helpful to create an addon that prevents NPCs from talking unnecessarily or removes repetitive dialogue. Thanks again for the great mod!
Thank you! I installed it with Vortex on a Steam install, and it works without issue for me so far! I struggle with audio processing, so I've been having a rough time actually hearing and understanding what the characters are talking about up till now. It's so nice being able to hear and understand what the characters are talking about again :D
