Apologies but I dont understand the difference between the two files. The Alt version "Upgrades a Sigil Stone one tier every time it's transmuted, regardless of your character level. Transmuting a lowest tier Sigil stone 4 times will make it highest tier, at the cost of 4 Varla stones". How does the main file differ from this? Does the Alt version only let you upgrade the specific drop of whatever random sigil you get? Whereas the main file doesn't have this feature and only allows you to change the random drop sigil to the one you want? Along with it's effects reflecting whatever your characters level is?

Both versions let you choose which stone you get. In the main version you'll always get back a stone at the tier appropriate to your character level. In the alt version it aways upgrades the stone to the next tier.

So the main version adheres to this:LevelType (Tier)

      1-4  Descendent
      5-8  Subjacent
      9-12 Latent
      13-16Ascendent
      17+  Transcendent

Whereas with the alt version you could even upgrade to a Transcendent stone already at character level 1, you just need 4 Varla stones and upgrade your Descendent stone 4 times.

Thank you for the clarification! And thank for this mod + supporting it as well. So the Alt version is the same as the main but it adds the extra mechanic of upgrading the stone to a better one with a varla stone. " In the alt version it aways upgrades the stone to the next tier" as long as you use a varla on it, right

Hey, thanks for the mod. I saw on the download page that you had updated the mod 1.1.0 to include visible names but after noticing in game that the names were the same, I looked in xedit with and the names still had the new localisation strings there. So I downloaded Visible Sigil Stone Effects to check if the renaming was perhaps handled differently but it doesn't looks like that's the case. Am I missing something?

Thanks, you're right, I must've made a mistake uploading the older version again. Should be fixed now!

Are you sure? Or maybe it will only apply to new sigil stones. I got two in my inventory, still no name change. Loving the mod btw!

Sorry, you're right. I didn't restore the original names from Oblivion.esm before running the rename script, so it tried to combine the localised Remastered names with the effect suffixes, which doesn't work. It should work now with 1.2.1!

Great idea. I was about to install the mod that lets you just pick your sigil stone, but this is much more balanced and compatible with a reasonable head canon.

You can use it in classic Oblivion, but it will change all the Sigil Stone names to localisation strings introduced by Remastered. You can easily fix that with Tes4Edit though, just have to do a drag and drop the name for every sigil stone entry.

It works with Oblivion Classic once the form Id's are restored with TES4Edit. And it's really simple if you use the apply script function and use the script called "Restore record names from master"

Great to hear! Feel free to upload it to classic Oblivion nexus as a mod. I'm not going to manage it though.

Cool thank you very much :) I'll upload version Sigil Stone Transmuter 1.0.2 and maybe the Sigil Stone Transmuter - Alternative once I've tried it.

Also I have to test it with a mod I have called Companion returns from Oblivion 2 to see if there any conflicts that keep followers from returning from Oblivion realm correctly. There's another mod that called OB gate partner bug fix that dose the same thing as CRFO, but I've never used it.

(The link for Companion returns from Oblivion 2 if from the german site ElderScrollsPortal)

cool it doesn't seem to conflict at all so if it's still ok i'll upload the Sigil Stone Transmuter 1.0.2 and the Sigil Stone Transmuter - Alternative as well as the Visible Sigil Stone Effects incorporated versions too

I don't know for sure if this is an issue on my end, but I downloaded the newest version, and now the stones I transmute are no longer consumed. This in practical terms means I get the sigils I want but I also get the base sigil put back in my inventory, yielding me 2 sigils

Amazing idea. Hopefully it can be expanded in the future with a small Mage's Guild sidequest or similar ingame event to explain the magic behind the process and make it not only balanced, but also immersive. So many possibilities =)

This is neat. The only possible issue I forsee is that varla stones don't respawn, so it's limited quantity. I doubt many player's will run into that issue though.

How many Sigil Stone enchantments do you really need on one character? There are at least 56 Varla Stones in the game. You'd also need to close 56 Oblivion Gates, which is about just as difficult as getting all the Varla Stones.

True, really only a possible problem for absolute conpletionists. But even then, they're likely to already have all the sigil stone enchantments they want long before.

If you don't mind another mod, there's one that allows for buying them from the Mystic Emporium.

Could it be some other item like black or grand soul gems or something? Varla stones are limited items as far as I'm aware and I prefer to treat them as collectables.

I like this idea. Specifically Black soul gems because there is a true cost to it(humanoid soul). Both Sigil and Black Soul Gems have a forbidden aura about them. Although, Sigil Stones are also limited in the game. There are about 60 Oblivion Gates in the game total, from my understanding.

Great idea. Maybe you can add some sort of gamba element to it? So you only get to choose from a limited selection. Maybe even weighted?

For me my game stucks in loading screen when i try entering the upper floor of frostcrag spire. I store sigilstones in the chest there. Possible mod conflict so i'm posting this here first in case some1 else is experiencing this issue and it's not just from my end. (mid-game installation)

I can't reproduce this, works fine for me. Tested it in Frostcrag Spire, same chest. Tested both versions of my mod, and went over the code again, but I really can't see how any code could trigger on loading a container with Sigil stones in it.
